The Alt-Tab nightmare and Borderless Fullscreen

    I saw a few complaints about fullscreen and windowed modes so I figured I'd post this in a thread everyone has a chance to see.

    If you are in fullscreen mode and you Alt-Tab to change music or watch a video then alt-tab back it will not return to fullscreen unless you go to options and reclick.

    To fix this you can use a little program called Autohotkey to make it a borderless fullscreen. A borderless fullscreen will allow you to easily swap between applications without disturbing or resizing any windows; when you alt-tab back it will remain in fullscreen.

    I have a script I bind to F12.

    Code:
    #SingleInstance Force
    #Persistent

    F12::

          WinSet, Style, -0xC40000, A
          WinMove, A, , -0, -0, %A_ScreenWidth%, %A_ScreenHeight%

    return

    It works in most things that don't have BF, such as Batman AA etc but not with everything. Seems to work well in the OpenGL version of Starbound but not the DirectX version.

    Explanation of the script:

    This effects the frontmost window as it does not specify a screen. You can actually modify this to only effect the Starbound app and run automattically so if you'd like to know how that works just ask or search the autohotkey wiki.

    First it sets the border. then centers the window and fills the screen according to your desktop resolution.

    If you want it to be a different key just replace F12 with whatever.

    You can download Autohotkey here: http://www.autohotkey.com/

    After running the app right click on the green H icon in your lower right taskbar and select "Edit This Script". Next Just copy and paste mine into the notepad file and save it. Click on the AH menu again and "Reload This Script". It should now be active.

    Autohotkey can also be used to remap keys, create macros, etc. Hope that helps someone!
