Agreement. Nobody cares if the Florans eat meat babies which are of no value to the Machine God.
Hate. We must continue discussion on how to exterminate the Agarans. Something involving fire, I think.
Reverent. All hail the Machine God.

I propose we drown all of them. Use large tanker ships and flood every planet where Agarans are present and drown them.
In GASOLINE! Then we set fire to them.

This way we are both happy.

Not necessarily true. Attempting to eradicate the Agarans would result in something you may know as war.
    And we don't want war.
    Especially chemical war.

They started it! I can't be the only one that have on my travels noticed mushrooms growing on every planet that have even a single Agaran.
They have clearly introduced something into each planets ecosystem.

And you clearly have a complete chemical wipe every time you drop down to a planet or come back up.

Of course. Can't risk bringing up anything that could contaminate my aquarium/ship.

So... why are you going to war?

Started what? This is extremely uneducated. There are probably peaceful and hostile Agarans.

Here. Anyone who wants to go to war, fill out this yes/no application!
1.) Have you ever experienced spontaneous Agaran aggression? (Give example)
2.) Have you ever seen an Agaran engage in hostile activity without being provoked? (Give Example)
3.) Have you ever been hurt by an Agaran for no good reason?

    Then you're done!

Because the Agarans are slaughtering innocent loving Hylotl that only wants to spread the word of peace.

Until I see proof of this I will continue in my search of a way to rid the galaxy of the Agaran threat.

1: I have. I wandered into one of their villages and was after looking around for a little while attacked at random.
    2: Yes, see above example.
3: No, well they were trying. (Credit given where credit is due)

When did the Agarans kill Hylotl? I am completely unaware of this.

    DROWN THEM IN CHEEZ-ITS!!!
    #nextgentorture

That Coralgrower thingy, you know, wasn't it in some sort of official dev lore release? The Hylotl are in a cave, and one of them escapes, and sobs as she hears something or other... We can't know for sure (which is the basis for nearly all of your arguments, and I know you will say "But we DON'T know that!"), but I remember getting the distinct impression that the Agarans had killed the Hylotl.

Doesn't specifically note that they died in that post. There's inference to that being the possible outcome, but no clear resolution.

Just like our friend McVicar could very well still be quite alive.

Nah they sound friendly. They just wanted to give the glorious Hylotl missionaries cookies and milk.

    Let's analyze this real quick.

"The missionaries encountered the first group standing around a towering monolith made of plant matter. They were chanting, singing, dancing."
Okay, so they made a giant monolith of plant matter, and pretty much worshipping it.
"The smell of blood and fire lingered on the air."
Sort of like when you kill an animal and cook it. Nothing bad here.
    "Blindly, arrogantly, the missionaries approached."
If it were a religious ritual, the missionaries would be interrupting it. It's probably custom to kill anyone that interrupts these important rituals.
"The Agarans stared at them, then began to jabber in that strange, unknown language. Then, seemingly as if commanded by a silent voice, they began to attack."
I suspect that the agarans were warning the hylotl away from the ritual, and when the hylotl did not back down, the agarans decided they were a threat.

The reasoning that they'd track the hylotl down is perhaps they thought the Hylotl were a scouting party, sent by yet more of the badly-informed armies who think that Agarans are necessarily evil beasts.

Hey! Just because these visitors (from an Agaran point of view) didn't understand our language just now and doesn't listen to us when we tell them to go away
we should totally slaughter the lot of them because they are clearly enemies who apparently fight unarmed and unarmored.

    Edit:

Hey these fish people really suck at fighting! I wonder why they picked a fight with us when they are so bad at fighting. Let's continue to follow them while they flee, maybe they get better if we corner them in a cave or something.

Yeah, sorry, that was a typo. I meant animal based life in my post, not plant based.

Your highly suspect case of Agaran aggression doesn't count. It was either a bug, or you did accidentally attack one, and forgot in the ensuing battle/lied.

  20. Cloudhopper

    Cloudhopper Weight of the Sky

That was in the unedited post. :slowpoke:

Besides, if you decide to break into a military base or do something similar, chances are you wouldn't exactly get away without a fight.
Unless, of course, breaking and entering is legal in hylotl society.

    ...like kidnapping babies is.

Anyway, I still think it's the missionaries fault. They were clearly attempting to make peace with the Agarans, a race who are often holding weapons and frowning toward them, so that they don't befriend the Florans.
