That's... Disturbing. Although, isn't there a mod for that?

I think the Galactic Child Protection Services might have something else to say about that.
You're still avoiding the point. What Agarans have done is tame in comparison to what lots of the other races have done.

I just once again want to point out that the Hylotl are not kidnapping children. So actually the Hylotl are probably the most morally sound race so far. The only thing they are guilty of is coming off as pretentious.

But what about the race's reactions to the sign?

It is a misunderstanding. Hylotl spawn eggs which hatch into tadpole like creatures. Their young are therefore in great danger of predation. They have no way to defend themselves. So Hylotl protect them. You can see that on the armor descriptions of Hyltol armor. The sign is informing Hylotl that if they see spawn in the waters they should scoop them up and take them to safety. The other races have a very different biology and have no context to understand the sign as they should. Therefore to them it seems like it is saying to take children.

    Read all the descriptions.

I think they may be more concerned with the floran/baby eating phenomenon at the moment;)

And since when do Florans eat babies? We might cannibalize our own fallen brothers and sisters and eat our fallen enemies, but there aren't any examples of Florans eating children.

At least they're not going Game of Thrones on those babies. :O

Saw this thread and immediately knew what I had to do:

TL/DR: It's my story of the search for an answer to the mushroom threat.
If this sin't the place to post this just point me in the right direction and I'll go there instead :p
Will continue this story if there is any sort of interest in it and post pictures if I find
    anything interesting in my travels.

Hmm... this brings up something in my mind...
The Florans are easily provoked in their villages and will kill their guests at a whim. They are angered when they do things. (Ex: Refuse raw meat, be a Hylotl, harm the local plants)
So what if the Agarans are like them? We need to do certain activities in their company. We know that they are not provoked by a weapon being drawn, but... what if there is other activities that grow distrust? Some of these could be harming the G0 Agarans, approaching the large mushrooms, or they even might harm you depending on your race.

I play an avian and even after I attacked agarans, they did not attack me back. I hit them with a legendary grenade launcher and they just sort of stared awkwardly at me, like "Why did you do that? o_O"

To be fair only the Agarans in the first village attacked me seemingly at random.
The rest I added more for the sake of the story, but I do find these fungi/humanoids rather interesting.

    This made me Chuckle

Perhaps they got attacked by some local wildlife off screen and became hostile to everything? It's a bug that's happened to me before at a glitch village. Some birds flew in, made the guards mad, and they started attacking me as well.

Maybe, although it have never happened to me before, was mildly surprised.

Also, random question, anyone happen to know what "Perfectly Generic Item" is for? Some random green cube I found on a planet.

Perfectly generic items are items that have an Id that doesn't match any item in the game. They're pretty weird. You might be able to craft Fish in a Bone with it.
they're also a reference to Homestuck's perfectly generic object, same name, shape, and color as the one here.

They are actually items that have since been removed from the game. This includes Mods as some of their items turn into green generic item blocks
