Personally, I'd be happier eradicating the rainbow villagers.
Sorry, but a lot of people don't like mushrooms. Besides, this could make for a very interesting boss....

Geez, and the rainbow villagers clearly didn't do jack to you or anyone else.
Clearly your playstyle is violent and most likely mentally unstable. Way to be part of the problem.

They are clearly not the race you want to have a cup of tea with and certainly not the kind of race that accepts friendly requests for help. As an explorer I would advise maintaining your distance, what ever you do do not engage in combat or provoke them. We have to keep our options open, they might be misunderstood yes, I have not personally witnessed them conquering any villages, planets, or systems. If in the case that they are malevolent, then just like fungal spores they will start colonizing exponentially, where ever they came from...I am noticing an ever increasing number of them in certain systems.

It's sorta funny how the only malevolence we actually have evidence of is statements made by the lore writer.
Actually it's really more sad than funny.

Violent? Part of the problem? Let me show you my perspective: Multiple new bosses are to be added, and agarans would make an interesting one. Rainbow villagers, from their dialogue, appear to be freaks of experimentation; it wouldn't be the worst thing to kill a test subject. Mentally unstable, you say? Allow me to remind you that I can literally undo any damage I've done in the game after a few clicks.
If I were actually violent, I wouldn't be trying to prevent my friends from murdering random villages and airship...
Besides, most fungi are toxic. Do you really want to live with them?

Fine, I'll do it *your* way. But it won't work, because a lot of people don't like mushrooms.
And like I said earlier, the order has already pretty much been given.

    We're influencing the lore!? Wthwldhwsuoseksltrhfvftrtr!?!?!!!!!!1
It was all caused by Space Wizards! And magical ponies! Penguins! Developer gods! Chips!
    /derp

If that's indeed true, the solution would be that the universal Agaran genocide is ordered because they seem so... menacing. However, there would be something that just doesn't fit the picture. They're going to this direction with the story right now, apparently.

Thread is named "The Agaran Menace" and about 50% of the poll votes suggest the Agarans are malevolent and misunderstood.

A boss that is an entire species is rather pushing it, I think, specifically because of the issues involving the fact that they have actually attempted to engage in peaceful communication. The Penguins are a different story exclusively because we cannot find random "penguin villages" in which we can talk to penguins. If we could, there would be plenty of issues with that whole deal too.
Sure, the Agarans can create a boss, there can be a boss controlling them, what-have-you, but that's no excuse for fantastic racism.
Yeah, so can the rest of us, metagame man.
Former test subjects who are sentient and intelligent don't deserve to die any more than anyone else.
Toxic fungi will only hurt you if you mishandle them. If you know what you're doing you're really in the clear.
I don't get why so many people hate mushroom folks. I bet if you gave them spotted round caps everyone would be chill because super mario.

That's what I was calling the lorewriter out on. He put the verdict in the name of the case before he even selected a jury, and yet the devs are still claiming that we're participating in writing the story. It's absolute bullshit.

I meant a single boss, not an entire species boss...
I meant that killing someone in a game would never classify me as "mentally unstable", as you put it.
I never said a lot of people hate mushroom folks, I said a lot of people hat mushrooms in general.

Ok, we're missing some clarification. I'm not classifying YOU as mentally unstable, I'm classifying your CHARACTER, in-universe, as mentally unstable. Key difference.
I don't get why people hate mushrooms so much, I thought Super Mario was a bigger influence on our culture. Guess not.

    Hello Again

Sorry that API is going a little haywire, but we are having some "Problems" with our little friend Dreadwing the Penguin.
But I have something important to announce.
We have discovered how the Agarans travel through space!

See that big pot-like structure? That is a giant pod! It has been launched through pace through unknown processes! See its resemblance to a normal Fungal Pod?
It crashes onto the planet's surface an opens up! There are Agarans and usually one Floran inside. After the pod opens, they do... stuff. This includes colonizing peaceful villages, or ransacking abandon Apex homesteads.

The liquid inside appears to be water, but I think that it's something else, due to the fact that it will turn molten after being exposed to the planet's atmosphere.
If they are fast enough, they will harvest the pod's materials for building. If they are too busy with their business, the pod will turn molten, leaving the Agarans unable to harvest it.

We have finally discovered how they travel in space! Yippie!
Now, I advise you all that any villages you see are peaceful. Any Agarans near pods are... questionable. Leave them alone if they seem agitated by your presence. If you see them in any Apex households, STAY AWAY! Do not enter. Do not attack any Agarans outside of it. Do not talk to them. Stay away.
If you ever encounter any Fungal Pods, get away IMMEDIATELY. And always bring a Survival System with you when exploring underground. You amy run into Fungal Pods, which we now know can clog your oxygen supply with airborne spores. If you see any Fungal Pods that are taller then you, run. We don't know what are inside of those.

Well, this thread's idea is to "figure out what agarans are doing", aka let us to affect the lore. When the thread's name is Agaran Menace, some peeps might instinctively think they're a menace and evil. ("The Agaran Mystery"?)
If people indeed want the to be evil, what's the problem? If people want to see the world burn, where's the problem. Majority rules, that's the truth.

I think that there's no reason to hate dem shrooms (yet!). They're just suspicious... and rather menacing considering what's going on.

That's an awful generalization. Who hates mushrooms?

Actually that makes a lot of sense in regards to method of space travel.
That's the problem, the lorewriter seems to WANT us to hate them, even though it's technically "our choice".
This sort of situation feels like they're showing us a choice, choosing for us, then sacking us with the responsibility despite the outcome being completely predetermined.
"I fpeople want to see the world burn, where's the problem."
Maybe the fact that the world is burning? I sure think that's an issue.

I think maybe the empty ones are ships; the ones with water or lava probably aren't.

Well when the Floran pods open in their death animation, your charactar is dripping in some liquid, probably used to preserve your body. That liquids is probably the stuff in those big craters. The empty ones have already been drained or something,

    And the lava?
Also, the mud bricks holding the sides up?

Ah, but it's not predetermined. We haven't got a straightforward answer "Yes, Agarans are evil. Kill 'em". We have just hints that can be interpreted in multiple ways. I could even claim that hylotl are the ones behind it all. How we interpret it is how we participate with lore writing.
It's been clear that Agarans have posed a thread all this time. We determine are they as guilty as it looks

"world burning" thing was just a joke, I mean the oppression against agarans. If people truly interpret agarans as a threat, why is it a problem?

They must have a jolly good time trying to get that thing to the outer space.

I think we need to consider alternative possibilities. Remember how the one explorer in the video claimed that the room was filled with spores, and afterwards he freaked out about the "like the tentacles all over again" or whatever he said? What if the spores were hallucinogenic, and he really wasn't seeing anything special/anything he hadn't already seen?

As for the mud blocks, that's just the dirt pushed aside by the pod opening. Notice that they have plant growth in them. This is because the pod grew into the blocks to keep a hold in the ground.
