There's a LOT of ways to deal with a problem.

But my favorite solution is of course explosives. if explosives arn't solving a problem, you're just not using enough. There is no problem that cannot be solved with enough explosives

Does anyone stop and think, consider alternative hypothesis? No, nobody does, you are all going berserk over this.

In all seriousness, it appears that our reactions are influencing the lore. Hence, if we over-react, the Agarans will be made out to be dull, character-less villains. Let's stop overreacting.

 

And what do you think the agarans are? If "it's like Earth, but....", then they're probably not nice.

 

I don't think they're "confirming our assumptions". I think they're "taking whatever shit we spew and making it happen, regardless of whether it is for the greater good or not".

And our own words made them that way. Had we actually tried to get along with the agarans, I'm betting things would be shaping up differently here.

 

Because they're paranoid crazies.

I'm pretty sure the exhaust port has a grating over it, and probably one or two bends so there's no line of sight from the outside to the middle of the reactor core

 

Doesn't anyone read the disclaimer messages?

 

This is why we can't have nice things.
Because the devs write lore based on input from people who swing WMDs around like no tomorrow.
People want something to kill now. I don't get it. People in this thread are seeking to obliterate the Agarans, so the lore is being written to encourage that, creating an endless feedback loop that will only end in fantastic pixelated racism.

 

Hey, I was perfectly optimistic until we got that video recording

 

A house divided cannot stand, while we bicker about ethics and morality about destroying the Agarans before they get even more out of hand, they are spreading more and making us come up with more unpleasant choices on how to deal with the situation

 

And a house united can make a darn stupid decision, thank you very much. Historically in the US Supreme Court many dissenting opinions (especially those involving civil rights) have turned around to become majority opinions many years later.

 

And that recording itself was spurred by pessimism. That's my entire point. It's a feedback loop: The players want to destroy, the developers decide to write the lore to justify their genocidal mass-destruction, and then more players want to destroy. This will not end well.

 

True, but remember, all the hatred started from the original content in the game.

 

It only started when someone jumped to conclusions. Had EVERYONE kept a cool head, we would not be in this situation.
Although frankly it looks like the lore writer was trying to push us in that direction, definitely too much. Look at the fucking thread title, he put the "official answer" to the poll in the fucking thread title.
That's like a court putting the verdict in the name of the case before they even select a jury. It's bullshit.
