Don't worry, I already do that... I never liked mushrooms, even as a pizza toping, and while Florans maybe violent, the fact that they don't go ballistic on the Agarans after being freed is most suspicious. so yes, I will do this on every Agaran I find near an imprisoned Floran.

 

Now all this hassle reminds me of The Last of Us. Mushroom parasite things.



Agarans act mostly peacefully towards other races minus Florans, but they're starting to get really menacing. I wonder where I put my flamethrower and shotgun... Starting to dig trenches and build barricades tomorrow. Space is a big place and maybe somewhere out there are whole cultures and races annihilated by these monsters?

We need to act quickly. Where will YOU be when the AGARAN MENACE strikes?

it's still a WIP and will remain so for a very long time, but rest assured that once I finish you'll be one of the first to know.
And yeah, I did name him for that post. Even the Superstructure needs someone important who's into handheld weapons.

 

Just for the record, I don't mod the game for Starboned. I play it strictly "as it lies". The reason is two fold: 1. I'm actually participating in beta-testing the game, and want to be sure that if I see an issue, it's an actual game-related issue and not a mod-related issue. 2. Anyone who follows Starboned I want to be able to have something of the same experience that I do. Not that they can't mod their game to math mine if I did that, but I feel like if I play the base game experience, they won't be scratching their heads and flooding my mailbox with questions like, "What mod is that?"

Lt. Ducky doesn't have time to answer a hundred mails asking for mod advice.

 

Back on topic with the whole Agaran Issue, I feel the entire mystery of the 'Agaran Menace' is best summed up with an excerpt from the collected literary works of the renowned Hylotl explorer Architeuthis.

As Architeuthis aptly notes in his prose, at the end of the day all anyone cares about is how the Agaran can be exploited. Harvest of Agaran headgear will end up being the true justification behind any extermination efforts, research projects, or even preservation efforts. Lobbyists and corporate entrepreneurs will use any and all means available to them to continue flooding the market with Agaran Heads for as long as there is even the smallest demand for them.

 

The more I find them, the more they remind me of xenomorphs. Those pods with the suffering Apex in them. I destroy them whenever I find them after I found that.

 

We're all gonna die now.

THIS IS A UNITED SYSTEMS PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Greetings fellow humans. Approximately 14 hours ago, the U.S.C.M received a transmission from the famed investigative reporter of the Starbound Chronicle, Charlton Mcvivar. He discovered a cavern infested by Agaran's as well as Floran's. Much of his speech was lost in static, but according to him the Agaran's aren't attacking the Florans, but something else. This also appears to have something to do with the Hylotl, but at this time it remains unclear. The caverns were filled with Floran pods, which began to twitch, and hatch out Agaran's.

The mushrooms released gas and spore, flooding the caves. As he tried to escape, a monstrous creature attacked. We currently do not know what did this, but theories suggest the result of Agaran experimentation on Floran's or Hylotl. Mcvivar's last known words were 'If anyone can hear me, anyone at all, I'm at co-ordinates [error in translation]. Bring guns. Bring armies. It's... it's just like on Earth... but... the Hylotl...'. Do not panic. The soldiers guarding all settlements will be doubled in amount. We will not let this menace overcome us like the tentacles took Earth. For we are-

Firstly
Why is that Avian toppless?!

SECONDLY!
That pod is called a "Trapped Apex Pod", called a "floranpodapex" in the assets. Apparently it doesn't attack you. It is still alive, but it isn't moving or anything.
There are also new encounters.
Additional to the Shroom Camps, there is now a "Shroom Patch" that contains open pods, Agarans, and large red mushrooms. There is also an underground chamber that contains Pin Friends. (Dogs)


Lastly, there is now Overgrown Apex houses. There are two variations. One is a normal household with open pods inside (The place is inhabited by Agarans) and the other is a small room with a torture bed and a weird Apex pod filled with green liquid. (Not Agaran stuff) Outside of it is the Apex Pod like the picture above.

 

Can birds smile? Also;

I believe that is just a black sweatshirt; it looks as if it's topless, but notice the white plumage ends suddenly.
Anyone have picks of this new stuff? I wish I could destroy planets-- all mushroom planets shall be death star'd!

 

I'm more curious about the Apex poster being vandalized, looks like they smeared crap over the words lol. Unless that's just some weird mod you are using...?
