It actually sounds like the cordyceps from the Last of Us. Infecting The florans and mutating them into fungi.

If you look at the tier 8 armor it says: the euphos are charged with tending the hylotl spawn near the surface, this points that they lay their eggs near the surface like most amphibians, and the sign description is: A sign seeking Hylotl to collect spawn from the surface. It is possible that other races misunderstood the sign, other than that you could be right, it would explain the dark secret, the npc accuse you of.

got to agree, their two completely different kingdoms, its like comparing animals and bacteria.

They trap them, but there's no proof that they torture them. the lava could simply be a fail-safe.

 

I don't think they're going so far with it. I'd like to think that they're two separate races.

There's also the giant pots of water where they drown florans.
Although the florans dying must be incredibly stupid, because they could just swim back to surface. Maybe agarans are just being good guys, giving a bath to their best friends florans.

I wonder, those traps look like pots and such, are they trying to cook florans?

 

Maybe they're training Florans for heat resistance?

Actually, Lava and other hot things are considered torture to Florans. They're much more susceptible to death by dehydration and going up in flames than other races, due to their status as flora instead of fauna. It's the reason Floran prisons keep pools of lava in them, to deter escape, and why they keep the floors of the cells toasty with hot coals underneath. A dehydrated Floran is weaker and stiffer joints, making it harder to escape. I'd consider forcing a human or any other race to stand on a thin platform over liquid rock to be torture, too. They dry out too, just slower. Even with Glitches, it'll slowly make their circuits overheat and their hydraulics to lose fluid.

 

Depends on whether or not they provide rehydration. Also, Floran biology is so confusing that apparently a water fountain is a torture device.

I got placeable pods via an inventory editor, and I found a fourth pod. Can you see the new one?



When you press "E" on the big pod, it makes an animal noise!

 

Also, you can mine the fungal pods an get them as placeable items.

 

But fungi grows on plants, correct? My theory is that the Agaran spores grow across the Floran's, eventually infecting the brain, and growing the large mushroom hat. At the end of it all the Floran is an Agaran. The same is used for the Floran cocoons, they inject their spores into the cocoon, turning the seedling Floran inside into an Agaran.

 

Woah! I can't seem to be able find that from the asset files though. Only floranpods I see are the 1-3.
"objectType" for them all is "noisy". I haven't tried to interact with them though.

 

It's called "giantfloranpod".

 

Guise... I found out that the developers are little trolls!
They made an unannounced update today! It added two different variations of mushroom heads!


Now we know that an Agaran could have been coming out of this!

 

Also, when you interact with the small pods, they don't do anything. I'm pretty sure that it's a bug. They are supposed to make the noise you get when you step on brains. (It's like a squish)

I suppose it's a bug. The 2 other pods should make "water puddle" and "wet clay" sounds, too.

I can find the new mushroom heads, but the "giantfloranpod" is nowhere to be found.

I do believe it's real. But I can't find it at all. I better try to unpack assets for another time...

 

Too much water is bad for them, like it is for any plant or animal. People have died from drinking too much water before, and overwatering plants is common among novice gardeners.

Yes, that is correct. People are trying to convince others that maybe Florans are actually genetically modified Agarans, but Agarans most likely need Florans as a host, so that can't be possible.
