    YOU FOOL!
    Their real dialogue (which they don't display properly) is not at all "pre-VEP"; they claim to remember the word "miniknog" and one of them remembers Greenfinger. Furthermore as indicated by the Classic China objects, pre-VEP apex looked like humans.

    I feel looking into the game files is kinda cheating... :unsure: Not saying it's wrong or anything like that it just feels..... to easy.

    There is a thread on the forums dedicated to translating the Agaran's weird language - I'm sure they'd appreciate this.

    What the heck does foom and choka mean? I don't see it on there.

    Asking because I got this playing my Human PC from an Agaran recently: "Meet foom! Enjoy House choka smashroom?"

    EDIT: Nevermind found the thread for translating their language now i'm just confused by the sentence structure.

    Also heres the language translation thread: http://community.playstarbound.com/...the-translation-of-the-aragan-language.68824/

    The only avian thing about them is their swords, upon closer inspection they look like glitch-apex (maybe avian) hybrids.
    In my opinion they're only using the avian in the file as a place holder until they have time to expand their lore.

    I personally think some are Glitch, some are Avian and some are Apex, or maybe a genetic experiment combination of all three. They seem to be mind-controlled/forced to serve, which gives the impression they're serving a higher power then merely Big Ape, Greenfinger, and Thornwing. Maybe the mysterious [REDACTED]?

    Well, sorry. The person you replied to was talking about non-existent Microns, and your reply was pretty vague and could have been meant for either "race".

    They're the Rainbow people and they are not supposed to have Apex lines, so don't base ANYTHING about them based on that bug.
    Currently they're just supposed to say [Add Dialog] or something but they glitched out and chose the first racial dialog folder instead, which is of course Apex, because of files being stored alphabetically.

    So, Starbummed recently posted this.

    Can anyone confirm if this is unmodded Agaran content, perhaps added into the game in the latest patch?

    Because if so it is sinister as all hell and heavily supports the "parasite" theory.

    It's real. It's found in the Apex random encounter files. It's called "apexmedical".

    I've been pretty casual about my thoughts about what Agarans are or what they're going for, although the fact that they're usually seen torturing florans has made me wonder a lot, but I got a LOT more uneasy about them recently after finding one of those overgrown Apex bases, specifically because when my floran character examines those pods, she states that they smell familiar and it scares her. Which sticks out a lot to me, because the only time I've ever noticed her being afraid of something I've examined is if it's something relating to fire, or the well-known water torture device (she tends to refer to any monster or animal as an "unspeakable horror" but I've always seen that more as disgust than anything). If something that seemingly innocuous freaks her out, it makes me a LOT more suspicious about what it is.

    Wrong, there's more Avian to them than swords. Lemme post their dialogue lines.
    Code:
    "dialog" : {
            "attack" : {
              "default" : [
                "You... desecrate... this place...",
                "I must... defend. I am compelled...",
                "Leave this place, traveller...",
                "You dishonor this ground...",
                "They... they want you gone...",
                "Trespass... and you die...",
                "Thief... Kluex will strike you down..."
              ],
              "avian" : {
                "default" : [
                  "You will... join me... in the ground...",
                  "Desecrator... I must destroy you...",
                  "Unbeliever... I have no choice...",
                  "You spat upon Kluex... now you will die...",
                  "Turn back, heretic...",
                  "Get out... you are not allowed here...",
                  "They... compel me... run while you still can..."
                ]
              }
            }
          }
    Note that there's two almost-identical NPC files, the Scifi Guard and the Pyramid Guard. Both of them are exactly like the ones used in the temple there, though for whatever reason they gave the Pyramid Guard more lines even though the Pyramid Guard is never ever used ingame. The above lines are for the Scifi Guard. Below is pyramid guard:
    Code:
    "dialog" : {
            "attack" : {
              "default" : [ "Die, fiend!" ],

              "avian" : {
                "default" : [
                  "You... desecrate... this place...",
                  "I must... defend. I am compelled...",
                  "You will never leave...",
                  "You dishonor this tomb...",
                  "They... they want you gone...",
                  "Trespass... and you die...",
                  "Thief... Kluex will strike you down...",
                  "You will be buried... with the rest...",
                  "Please, release me from my bonds...",
                  "Die by my sword..."
                ],
                "avian" : [
                  "You will... join me... in the ground...",
                  "Desecrator... I must destroy you...",
                  "Unbeliever... I have no choice...",
                  "You spat upon Kluex... now you will die...",
                  "Turn back, heretic...",
                  "Get out... you are forbidden...",
                  "They... compel me... run while you still can...",
                  "Heresy...",
                  "I... I remember Avos..."
                ]
              }
            }
          }
    Pyramid guards "remembering Avos" (the Avian homeworld) makes them unambiguously avian. Due to the bizarre duplicate file issue, it is a little bit ambiguous as to whether or not they meant those lines for the guards in the Scifi Bases.
    Also note that they would be servants of Kluex (given that they have oaths to him and whatnot) and Thornwing's alliance to Greenfinger and/or Big Ape means that Kluex isn't too fond of those two cause Kluex isn't too fond of Thornwing after Thornwing ditched out on being an Ascendant.
    Also wrong
    Here's the dialogue lines stored in the file colourfulvillager.npc:
    Code:
    "converse" : {
          "waitTime" : 0.5,
          "dialog" : {
            "default" : [ "What... have I become?" ],

            "apex" : {
              "default" : [
                "What... have I become?",
                "My fur, it's... colourful.",
                "I remember... bananas.",
                "My dreams are haunted by a giant ape. What does this mean?",
                "I fell asleep at my desk and when I awoke, I'd written the word 'miniknog' over and over.",
                "What colourful fur I have! So strange.",
                "I feel like everything has changed overnight."
              ],
              "apex" : [
                "You... your face is familiar, somehow.",
                "Were we once alike, Ape?",
                "Tell me what you know of the name Greenfinger.",
                "Why do you seem so familiar? It is like... no, I can't think.",
                "Have we met before, Ape?",
                "Seeing you makes me feel an alarming nostalgia. Why?",
                "Outside I am colourful, inside I am grey.",
                "I had... a family, once. They were like you."
              ]
            }
          }
    The colorful villagers don't apply dialogue lines properly for reasons unclear.
    Confirmed unmodded, I located it in the files in my changelog post.
    This is why we can't have nice things
    because the storywriter seems to want to make an entire race "always alignment evil"
