Annoyance. That would be grossly inefficient and time consuming, not to mention a waste of resources.
Analysis. Sufficient use of nuclear hellfire to turn the planetary surface into glass is more efficient. Also prevents possible Agaran escape.

    Duh duh DUUUUUUH!
Sorry for the huge quote, but I feel that the introduction Razey did could bare a closer look.
I took the time to highlight a few part I feel are important.

    1. First, we have the fact that twice it is mentioned that they were once peaceful.
    2. We have mention that they were named by Greenfinger. I barely know any lore, so I don't know what the significance of this might be.
    3. They are spreading by an unknown means.
    4. They have some connection to the Florans.
5(?). They seem to revere plants.
    6. I'm not sure if this is just for effect or not, but it seems to apply that there is some outside influence upon them.
    7. The scent of sap and oak is mentioned.

Now for another episode of Conspiracy Corner with Volt!

Greetings everyone and welcome to Conspiracy Corner. I am your host, Volt.
This time, we will be talking Aragans.....What's that teleprompter? Agarans? *clears throat*
This time, we will be talking about Agarans, Myth, Menace, or Misunderstood? But first a message from our sponsors!
    *commercial break*
    Welcome back.

Now, it is known that they were once peaceful. "Once" is the keyword here. This coupled with the fact that it is implied that something commanded them to attack leads to the theory that there might be someone or something influencing or controlling them. This also leads me to conclude that they had been encountered before, just only in smaller numbers and perhaps only in the farthest reaches of the galaxy. This also brings up the question, how are they spreading? Is it by their own devices or by the intervention of the outside force that might be responsible for their increased aggression? Furthermore, What is the significance of the scent of "sap and oak" and what role might Greenfinger play?(Note: I'm new and therefor know nothing of the lore surrounding Greenfinger, or most of the universe for that matter.) What of this supposed worship of plants?

    Theory Time!

If the Agarans are being controlled by something, then that could partly explain their expansion. For instance, the appearance of them near broken cages, as was my first encounter with them. But, if they are not spreading by mean of third party intervention, then how? I'll tell you how! Space spores! Instead of being transported by contamination of space travelers, their spores travel straight through space itself! Carried upon the solar-wind from planet to planet! You might be asking how they get their spores into outer space. Well, I'll tell you how! Perhaps the Agarans are just part of a larger species of fungi. One which include those little pet like things all the way to massive stationary mushrooms that go all the way into space! Once out of the atmosphere they them release their spores. Or maybe there are the chosen ones among the Agarans, these are nurtured and grown into the massive stationary mushrooms I mentioned earlier. Space spores, it's on the record!

Next up! Their connection to the Florans and reverence of plants. So, we've all seen the pictures and heard the stories. Agarans take Florans and lock them up in strange structures. I have two theories about this. First, the structures, they seem to have the appearance of pots, with the Floran hold somewhere inside. Why is this? I'll tell you! The Florans are seeds! They're growing Florans! Maybe they turn the Florans into something that's not a Floran, maybe a giant mushroom! Space Spores! Here's another theory, maybe they worship Florans! Maybe growing a Floran is a part of their worship. Maybe that towering monolith of plant matter used to be a Floran! With the meat and blood a sacrifice! This would also explain why they also appear near Floran statues. They worship them because they are more advanced or because THEY NEED THEM TO SPREAD! IT"S THE SPACE SPORES!

IT's the government! They're putting spores in the water, DON'T DRINK THE WATER!
*sounds of a struggle* No! I SPEAK THE TRUTH! THEY MUST! You can't take me off the air!
    TAKE ME OFF THE AIR!

This concludes another Conspiracy Corner with Volt!

....Sorry about the length everyone, just a few thoughts I wanted to share. And a lot of craziness! :iswydt:

I have to note that I have seen mushrooms in the desert. Magma planets as well. This has led to the theory that Agarans are terraformers.

1.it would be safer (the lore clearly states they're capable)

2.no species (except maybe apex)have any nuclear weapons(especially those who are stuck in the dark ages).

    3. if they are in fact under influence, or simply protecting themselves, we should be trying to help them, not exterminate them.

Theres only one way to find out...

Wait, what if that's their purpose? To spread Agaran life to uninhabitable planets, using spores?
The spores might slowly convert humanoid species to their own species, over a period of time, which means they only get their aggressive nature at the final stage of conversion, once most of the brain has been converted. The first parts of the brain to be converted would be the speech areas, resulting in the strange 'shroom-speak' language.
Having them change over a long time gives them time to terraform the planet to their needs before they fully change. This would explain why Agarans drop their heads, because only the outer layers are converted, and so it can be separated from the inner organs.
Perhaps they keep the Florans prisoner because they are unconvertible, and very dangerous.
Perhaps Drysap changes the Florans, making them convertible, or less dangerous.
It's possible that the 'spores' aren't even spores, but nanomachines, created by the original Agarans, who created them to escape their own extinction. Maybe the Florans were the ones making them extinct?
    Only time will tell.

Logical. Then they'd be capable of breaking out of a mere containment dome.

Condescension. We have the technology to turn coal into starship fuel to go faster than light. The construction of nuclear weapons should pose no challenge.
Awe. Besides, we know that there is a weapon being developed that is capable of destroying the upper layers of an entire planet. We can just use that when it becomes available.

Disdain. The Machine God cares nothing for such arguments. The Machine God clearly favors the Florans over the Luddite Agarans, and thus extermination is morally sanctioned.
Reverent. All hail the Machine God.

Actually they cant, they have no space capabilities, and if the spores do travel through space, they will not be able to penetrate a dimondillium dome (only tentacle monsters can do that).

The fact that you have the ship means that you are clearly self-aware and therefore hunted by the glitch hive-mind, meaning you will have no time to build nuclear devices that could destroy planets, never mind the years of research to do it (no offense but your ship is made of wood and cobblestone, i think it was built in a hurry).

This is actually pretty funny, the glitch fighting for their right for free-will, and fall straight into the same trap as the avians, its the kluex situation but with Bill Gates:D

I didn't say they couldn't, i simple said they wouldn't have enough time (by the time its done, all the agarans will be put into the dome, MAKING SPACE SPORES USELESS! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

    Out side influences....

When I hear that, I think of cultists. They seem to always be looking for sacrifices. Perhaps they are forcing the Aragans to capture Florans to give to the cultists, in order to keep themselves out of the sacrificial circle.

Another outside party could be the Eye Guards, AKA the notorious Winged Demons. I have no idea why they would need the Aragans though, because so little is known about them.

They also have no memory of what made them what they are, if you check their .npc file. The problem is that they're not overriding lines properly and inheriting them instead (unless they fixed that).

FLORANS DO NOT ASSIMILATE TECHNOLOGY. THEY REMOVED THAT FROM THE LORE. THEY RETCONNED IT OUT. IT NEVER HAPPENED. PERIOD.
Thanks for proving my point about how speculation leads to fail.
Furthermore, the phrase "clankbeasts" is simply the closest thing that our translators could find to the phrase in question. Translators aren't an "all or nothing" deal. They'll translate what they can and leave what they can't, unless they can't catch ANYTHING in which case they give an error and try to parse it again.
Therefore, your hatred is illogical. Furthermore, your impression of "possession by agaran spores", as comedic as it may be, is not convincing.

Stating the obvious. They clearly have some method of getting around.

Deadpan. The hive-mind bound Glitch lack FTL capabilities, and as such they can't hunt this unit unless this unit lands on a world where a Glitch colony was seeded by our creators.
Pride. As to this unit's ship, it is only wood and cobblestone aesthetically. If you look inside the ship it is clearly made with standard shipbuilding materials.
Reverent. All hail the Machine God.

Curiosity. Would you care to point this unit to where the lore has changed? Currently the the major wikis still state Floran tech is mostly reverse engineered.

Yeah, even their ship is Apex technology overgrown, as far as I'm aware all they retconned was the Avian involvement, and changed it to that an Apex ship crashed, and THAT'S how they got advanced tech.
