Debatable. They could still be enemies given that the Agarans apparently imprison and experiment upon them.

    McVicar (obviously)
    • Agaran
    • Floran
    • Hylotl
General Cassidy Cale (human military leader)=tells him to abort

    Other stuff

Couldn't recognize what came out of the pod yet he could analyse Agarans suggesting whatever came out wasn't Agaran.
"Its just like what happened on Earth, but..the Hylotl" Earth was ripped apart by tentacle beast although it says on Earth not to Earth.
    Floran furniture
    30-33 anyone? (crap audio)
    lots of hatching pods
    spores filled the cavern
intercepted by Thorndrone 451 (reference to directive 0451?)
Thornwing intercepted the message, seemed happy.
co-ordinates are blocked= someone doesn't want this getting out.

30-33 audio = "Oh my god the Agarans, ______ attacking the Florans"
The blank is the garbled part, can't tell if it is saying NOT attacking, or ARE attacking. To me it sounds like "Oh my god the Agarans, they've been attacking the Florans" but it is too garbled, maybe someone with some audio skills can clean up that dialog and get the exact words, he speaks so fast and the audio is so distorted there's not much way to be 100% sure what is being said without some kind of cleanup, or more official info.

Greetings all, I've validated and I'm about as sure as I can be without asking a developer that McVicar is saying:
Oh my God, The Agarans, they've been attacking the Florans!
: - This almost validates their aggression. Almost.

Also, "It's just like on Earth," ; This could mean a few things.
    1. An Underestimated threat.
    2. A Growing Creature that could cause great danger to all, and even bring the destruction of planets.

Furthermore, the spore theory has also been confirmed. Now, are they infectious or just Hazardous?

(Anyway, Enough actual contribution to the thread. Time to make a horrid pun!)

What do Agarans enjoy around a campfire? S’pores!

I could have sworn the first time I watched it I heard "The Agarans, they're not attacking the Florans, they're..." but on a rewatch it sounds completely different.

I don't think that the Agarans in the cave are attacking the Florans, as everyone already suspects they are. Why would it be shocking to him if it just confirmed everyone's suspicions?

Gentlemen, what is this debate. We have the text written in March Newsletter.
Agarans haven't been attacking them. Although what are the torture devices meant specifically to florans doing in the agaran structures. Yeah, not attacking, but torturing?

I believe in the spore theory, as it's clear Agarans can infect other races since the story of Restless Sparrow. I also believe to the generation theory, the "aggressive generation" created by apex scientists, support to this theory being the apex mutants appearing since ages ago and the pictures of pods in apex labs and whatnot. I'll maybe do a summary post v2 later.

They don't infect other races, though. They can just use a corpse as a scaffold, using some of the DNA as a template for how to construct around whatever skeleton the creature had. The intelligence of the host corpse probably affects the intelligence of the Agaran grown over it, I would assume. Sunborn are probably very very intelligent, which would explain how the Agaran that grew from it learned how to control the ship so quickly...

Although, they could totally just kill things and then use their corpse.

However, the sunborn died of the spores in it's lungs.

I remember hearing the same thing, so when I re-watched it I was surprised to hear it changed. I could have sworn that it was almost exactly what you quoted. Maybe the developers are toying with us... Hmph.

I also like your idea of the Agarans taking over the silhouette of a corpse, and also having the ability to make use of it's mental capabilities.

    Anyway;
Fungi pun contributions to the thread are the YEAST I can do.

Well in that case, the audio in the video is super crappy if that's what he's supposed to be saying. I was just trying to answer Villhelm's question based on the video.

Either way I'm washing my hands of this Agaran business until the devs give us more concrete info. Until then, if I find them, I farm them for pixels.

    edit:quoted wrong post, fixed

InsanityPixelated: The Knight who says Ni Agaran jokes.

(If you don't get it, shame on you, now go watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

EDIT of Usefullness: Shoot, man. I just rewatched the video. It's true; he does say they have been attacking the Florans, but I would swear on my very life - No, my Steam account! - that he said "not" the first time. I dislike that the devs changed it, it added a lot more interest to this whole thread. If you're reading this, Raze, FIX IT! CHANGE IT BACK NOW OR WE WILL REBEL AND MAKE ALL THE AGARANS INTO PONIES!

Am I the only one who doesn't really care for Agarans?

I just find them to be annoying with their lava structures and me not having pulse jump sometimes. :/

Do we know that? Does it say the sunborn died of lung spores? I can't find the link to it, so someone is going to need to check (and repost the link).

We've seen the garden-variety of agarans, but the Humans don't have any records on the G3 Agaran
that we know of. I'd say it's either the Apex, Hylotl, or Florans that have information on it. That is,
    if anyone has records.

Directive 0451 and Thorndrone 451 are references to the same book, I don't think they're references to eachother.

It's stated that the sunborn corpse is still fresh, however since the sunborn have a reputation as a race of god-like beings, Fresh could be relative to their lifespan and not a human-like rate of decay.

    Also, confirmation here.

He didn't die from spores in its lungs, it just died "From a mysterious fungal infection." Which then later spread to the corpse's lungs and lay dormant.

My brother found a huge egg/seed/thing in an Agaran controlled area a few weeks ago(or it may have been Apex, I can't recall). I think that it's for an as of yet unimplemented boss.
It highlighted when the cursor was put over it, character comments suggest that they heard something moving inside it. Oh, and it looked like one of those green spikey egg things, if they were the size of the Jelly Monster.

Does ananyone notice that agrans are infesting apex hospitals? Also i found some kind of "giant fungal pod" over a pool of poison. In the pool was a fungal pod with an apex body sticking our. Not only are they taking floran prisoners, they is now evidence that they are agressive towards the apex.

  20. Cloudhopper

    Cloudhopper Weight of the Sky

Implying that the Apex didn't actively seek out the pods, or that they aren't Agarans built on top of an apex corpse which died of other causes. Remember, fungi are primarily decomposers, and they are often found on organisms which have already died of causes besides the fungus.
