That singing, though...

People are overreacting for such a little addition to the game, they are worried about singing on multiplayer when other people can block your way with stones or damage your buildings with no reason, and many kind of harassment that can be done on Terraria that will be on Starbound too...

I clicked like, until I realised it was a dubstep version. You RUINED THE ENTIRE SONG!

 

Ultimately the thing to remember about the feature is that you don't have to use it. I think it sounds funny and cute and adds flavour, but you can always miss using it.

 

I don't understand how people still don't understand the saying of "if you don't like it, don't use it." It's like it just goes through one ear and right out the other.

The people who don't like this shouldn't complain and try to force the devs to take it out, because there ARE people who do enjoy this.

And to the people who think it takes from the game's character... well, Starbound never really had any character. It's about doing whatever you want, so if you don't want to sing, then don't. If you do want to sing, then do.

 

While I'm a huge Vocaloid fan, I kinda think it sounds more like K.K. from Animal Crossing.

 

Yup, I would even accept gibberish like singing.
Characters don't have to sing words for me, just gibberish humming and noises and whatnot and I will die happily.

 

I think it is important to distinguish that it throws your idea of the game's personality out of the window. Someone else may think it enhances the game by the same margin you think it degrades it. We need to try and not let our egocentric opinions judge what might or might not be good for the game as a whole.

Just to be clear, there is nothing wrong with disliking the feature but it seems like more people like it than don't so you may as well get used to the idea of it being in.

I haven't posted in a long time, but first and foremost, I like the singing simply because it sounds like fun. Those who don't like it, don't use it. Even if the "cutesy" voice is annoying you it's still subject to change.

That said, what ever happened to the tolerance? I mean you can express your opinions, but at least be respectful to other's points of views. I like vocaloid, I don't mind if you hate it, but don't just blatantly call it trash, it's rather rude.

 

But Juice box is the best! He loves potatoes!

Juice box is wacky, I mean he is a juicebox who loves potatoes and talks in the 3rd person.

 

Personally, it can become quite annoying and irritating. A nice touch could be a mute button on players or an option to mute singing/instruments altogether if it has not already been planned.

I respect your opinions (which I don't agree with), so why don't you respect mine? I don't like Vocaloid because the musical quality is extraordinarily bad (I had to put up with 90's Europop, so I know terrible music), but I never said that anyone else isn't allowed to enjoy it.

 

I want to see a video where they've combined the music from Portal and the singing. That would be awesome!
