You guys need a sarcasm detector stat, because this thread was literally PAINFUL to read...

 

Look at the style. As a researcher of Japanese history, that is Samurai armor. The ridging of the legs, the helmet. Thats samurai armor, let noone else tell you otherwise. As to what culture it belongs to? We will know when we see more Lore.

Is not Orc Armor. Orc armor tends to be spiky, and geared towards offense more then defense.

It does look like it would fit the florans' culture though, so I'm going to assume it is.

 

See, the thing with orcs is that depending on the franchise, the cultures are pretty different.
Most orc armor is made of animal skins and/or thick metal plates (often studded & with oversized spikes)
That armor just doesn't say "Orc" to me. The newest armor could be considered "Haradrim-styled", but I'm more certain it's based off of samurai.
The floran armor is a bit too lightweight and "nice-looking" for me to consider it being orc-style. It's probably closer to tribal style, similar to avian armor, but more primal.

 

This pretty much covers the orc subject here. Their cultures are quite different across different universes and sometimes even in the same one.

In terms of the Starbound franchise, it does seem that the Samurai style will be absorbed by the Hylotls and not really by the Florans. It's just what I gather from lore and pictures.

 

Environmental hazards...good.
The more direct and indirect interaction the player can make with the world, the better.

I'm gonna go with Hylotl armor since they're like... Japanese samurai fishpeople. Or maybe just regular samurai armor?

 

I don't think that's a floran sword though.
I mean, we know the armor is right, but the florans had an axe for their tier 1 weapon.

I will agree that that sword looks orcish, though.

 

I don't think there's just one weapon for each tier. There could be a Floran Axe Tier 1, a Floran Spear Tier 1 and so far. I can be wrong though.

There very well could be, but we still don't know if that sword is Floran.
Even so, one sword is not much to prove that the floran are based on orcs. Particulary a simple one.

One of us should really ask a dev about this.
