as theres already a tentacle planet wouldn't it be a good idea to make a native race that itself looks like a tentacle they could also be used as one of the palyable races you know kinda like the tentacle from "day of the tentacle" edit: As the tentacles are only able to move forward fast by jumping forward they like to stay far behind and fight especially with long range weaponry. Knowing they are very slow they are building special mechs and vehicles for very fast travel as they otherwise would end up being defeated very fast if they ever where to be invaded by a at least bipedal race.
