Tentacle Kitty and Other Cameos

I have been super excited about Tentacle Kitty and the other Cameo characters in Starboundfor quite some time. In fact, Tentacle Kitty's facebook was where I first heard about Starbound! While discussing this epic cameo in a thread from another fan, the moderators mentioned that it was not confirmed to be in Starbound!



After talking to Tiy on the IR Chatroom I found out that ALL cameo characters are not yet confirmed.

So I ask you, do you want to see cameo character added into Starbound?

 

A blue normal sized hedgehog that gives you a quite noticeably sized movement speed boost if you catch it.

 

A cameo....well either of the aliens from Toejam & Earl would be hilarious, but I doubt it'd happen.

Tentaclekitty is enough for me, honestly.


EDIT: On the thought of TJ & Earl, just picturing ANY retro sci-fi heroes from the heyday. That's why they came to mind. A random event Roger Wilco aimlessly exploring some planet and doing some absurd chore to save the universe would be a fun nod as well. Again, not expecting any of this. Just fun little thoughts!

 

Cameo ~ Clockwork Bishop from Don't Starve. Would be a pretty nice cameo.

I am SO okay with starbound being cameo-free, you have no idea. I want a fresh game, honestly, and cameos make the game seem a bit... Cheap. When it already has so much content I can't shake a poptop at it, I think it makes the feel of the game a bit off. I'm /so/ done with minecraft references being in games as a whole (Read: Borderlands 2, Torchlight 2, etc) and it's made me dislike content being put in altogether, almost.

That said, I love tentacle cat. I have a first edition plush and it's generally at the head of my bed. Possibly would be okay, since it's not a major thing.

I should probably not post this until I make a note that I don't hate all referential humor/cameos in games. Easter eggs are not a bad thing, but I find I like them more when they're referential of their own company (Read: Bungie leaving sound clippets from other games of theirs in the Halo franchise) or single-appearance. By that I mean adding something like a creeper or a terraria mob to the monster generator so that I'd occasionally see them would be a bit much.

I'd love some confirmation that that made any sense, it's late and I've been up for almost two days.

 

Duncan Idaho from the "Dune" series. That dude just won't die. Or will, rather, but then just gets cloned again and again by a benevolent demigod.

 

Put Dune on your one-to-watch list. But non of the crappy remakes. It has to be the original 1984 film

I'd like a cameo from a character in Bravest Warriors, more specifically Catbug.

Also, Poro from Riot Games' League of Legends(I know, a huge stretch, but one can dream! T^T).

So in a sea of literally thousands of monsters 3 or 4 for cameos are going to make you dislike the game?
Cause that's what you're making it sound like.
