Try changing the tech you're using to one of the vanilla techs and then upgrade. I think the system might not like certain changes made to techs that you have currently equipped.

 

Found a character corrupting crash after installing this mod. I didn't bother to try and isolate if the problem was just this mod or a mixture which included this mod.

When selecting Dash 2.0 at the tech console (unlock) I get booted out of the game with the following error:
[Error] Exception caught in client main-loop
(StarException) Unknown particle definition with kind .

When attempting to resume the game character doesn't show up and log indicates an error in the file (ie corrupted character, something about invalid range).

After restoring the character from backup I was able to resolve this issue by editing the file sprint2.animation in this mod, the two "particle" lines were pointing to empty strings. I set the strings to "sprint" on both of them.

Now when I unlock the tech no crash and I can experience the tech just fine.

I used grep (well rgrep) to check if any other "particle" lines in other files pointed to an empty string and didn't find any.

 

I see. I'll revert to the vanilla game's lua and animation for the dash techs and see if that helps.

Im still using 1.52 regardless can you disable hover while using rope or grappling hook? Those two kinda being manipulated and slow while climbing when you use hover with, also how bout airdash 2.0 + hover? I recently testing all tech combination that suits my gameplay

Aqua Sphere 2.0 corrupted my character, it's trying to load distortionsphere2.animation which doesn't exist.
Spike sphere 2.0 also points to distortionsphere2.animation, replacing the 2 by a Z fixes both

Found an issue. The game crashes after trying to open the tech console in the outpost. It leaves the following error message:

Exception caught in client main-loop (AssetException) error loading asset
/interface/scripted/techupgrade/bk3k_addTechs.lua

idk what it's causing it.

 

Sorry I'm an idiot and didn't read the obvious and giant WARNING in the overview page.
