TB recorded some Starbound

i ment the part in taking the game, and just recording it, no words or anything, that's the taboo, not disliking something.

 

As someone who watches videos from both channels, you are wrong. I am not stating my opinion when I say that their videos do not include "screaming and cheap non creative profanity".

(I realize I am straying from the thread's original topic, but I enjoy being right too much.)

 

I understood that, and that's what I was talking about. I literally said just that. It's not direspectful or taboo to record a game and be silent and JUST play the game. Taboo means that something is socially unacceptable and people who take part in a taboo activity are usually shunned or treated with a lesser degree of respect. The only reason people do the type of LP's they do now is because they can make ad revenue off of it by appealing to a niche of people who find someone's particular sense of behavior to be entertaining. This is why almost every LPer tries to be funny, because they are funny to a certain demographic of people. Therefor stupid behavior over gameplay = cash flow. I didn't say it was wrong, my original point was that I found it annoying and it seemed to upset people, spiraling out of control... Everyone is entitled to like what they like. If they find that bafoon with TB in that video funny, more power to them. I simply meant that I found it to be obnoxious and I could not focus on the video for his ranting. If you go to the youtube video and look at the comments, many many other people feel the same way.

 

it's unacceptable for a LPer to just record a game and say nothing, thats how you get strikes on your youtube account, cause you are taking someone elses product and just using it to earn money.

 

If it makes you feel better I could act like I agree with you, and say you are totally right and all your opinions are factual for sure.

 

People have plenty of gameplay videos without speaking over them on youtube... I think you're confusing not giving credit to content creators and having ad revenue rights with doing a vocalization over a LP... Do you really believe the only thing preventing people from getting sued or having their account banned or videos removed is talking?

 

I agree completely, it seems all these "streamers" are getting it early and not even trying to play it ... rather just goofing off. Several of the Twitch streams are complete fails as well.

 

Prepare for the incompetence of Jesse in this series. It will be great.

I watched a little of the video and I honestly don't see what's wrong. Just two dudes having fun. I think you're overreacting.

in part, many people do it, and many people get away with it, but it doesn't make it right, it's not really a lets play at that point, it's just showing off other peoples work as your own.

 

They don't scream randomly. They only scream when they need to scream (if that makes any sense). TB only screams (not really a scream, more like a loud curse) when he dies. Jesse only screams when he's scared. There wasn't really that much screaming in the video either, just TB getting angry at Jesse for his incompetence.

 

Think you need to understand that maybe to you their humor/jokes/whatever are not, "screaming and cheap non creative profanity". To others it is. Personally i enjoy Jesse, but hate the game grumps.

And even then actually, Jesse can be vastly annoying.

 

Yeah, Game Grumps did have a lot of screaming (mostly from Jon's end).

That makes no sense. What if I want to buy a game and review it first? What if I'm looking for a new game to buy but the only videos that exist all have someone making squeeling noises over the gameplay? It's not really a big deal, it's just annoying. Maybe that's just me. People seem to have incredibly short attention spans. Maybe they need goofy bull**** being heard constantly in order to care.

I really would have appreciated a WTF Is rather than JesseCox dicking around and ruining my view of the game entirely. Seriously, he's not even press, why the fuck did he get a copy?
