I see a lot of self-entitlement in this thread. Nobody cares if you didn't get the game early and you're mad because someone else did. It's two days, calm down. It really bugs me how negative this forum has become in the last few months. The way people stomp their feet and kick and scream when they don't get what they want is very reminiscent of how people acted on Black Friday; trampeling each other and hurting each other over their greed for material objects. Like a TV or a set of headphones.

On topic... that was hard to watch. I know who Totalbiscuit is and I already don't like Let's Plays (I wish I could look up footage of a game and not have to listen to some quasi-personality the entire time who usually tries to be a comedian) but, oh my good god. That other guy playing with him made that video cringe worthy and I could not finish it. It almost seemed like his friend was trying to cram as many words into the recording as humanly possible while at the same time making it seem as if he was trying to get a 2 year old to laugh at silly faces and noises. Someone gets early access to SB so they can record the gameplay and THAT'S how it gets treated? Yikes. I'm sure someone better could have been found to play that with TB... like Ray William Johnson... and I hate that guy. :l

Can we please get more videos of games that don't have people talking the entire time or.. at all? SB looks great but that video was not easy to get through. I apologize if that offends any overly sensitive LP'ers or Totalbiscuit fans but it needs to be said. LP's are plaguing the interent.

 

A field of explosive rainbows ignited inside of me when I read this comment. Seriously, thinking about Jesse as a Novakid makes me smile.

 

this is generally a taboo because then you are pretty much using the companies product directly to earn a profit, lets plays are allowed cause you are making it your own, if you don't say a thing it's kinda just ripping off the game.

 

Last few months lol this whole year people have been crazy. We still have a ok community but as always the loudest pointlessly angriest people get the most attention.

 

Since people are probably going to rant about Jesse in this thread to, I'll post my other comment here.

Random like teenage girls who say 'BANANA HOODIE' when nobody is talking to them because they think they're being cute and qwirky but it ends up only appealing to people who think fart aps on phones are amusing.

...there's nothing taboo about not liking a let's play. I'm not sure you know what taboo means. A person can play a game, record it and upload it and not be disrespecting it if he doesn't speak or vomit noises that some people seem to think are 'whacky'. The video is still showcasing the game and getting people to watch it, therefor bringing attention to it. Maybe I'm just becoming jaded as I have to absorb more and more of these capitalist fads like twitter and so forth, but I can't remember the last time I was able to look up a game I wanted to check out before buying or out of curiosity and did not have to hear some doofus rich kid belch stupidity into a microphone.

 

He's been talking about it on Twitter all day he's had some issues, mostly with Jesse's audio/server stability. The video is most likely chopped together.

Kinda my point. I posted in another post of people saying how youtubers should wait about this game: The first steps of starbound are MINE to have, not TB's, not Leth's (i see he is streaming starbound a lot lately), Not the yogscast or that event people got to play... I am taking the first breath of this game on my own, with my friends. Not watching someone else take them for me.

P.S. Pass x2 for TB. I really dislike him.

Starbound isn't some sacred game that should be treated with absolute respect OR ELSE. It's just a game.

 

I didn't say that nor imply it. I meant that the game has been hyped by its community for as long as it has, TB knows exactly the impact this game's release will have on us who've followed it, and then joins up with THAT guy to do the early access video. I did not say the game was sacred.

Quantity over quality.
