TB recorded some Starbound

and yet TB is against pre-ordering. I honestly feel like he sold out on this one.

He hates LPs.
He disagrees with the idea of preordering.
He openly told people to not preorder Starbound several months back.
His comment section is open (which he closed in protest to the YouTube changes).

2 Days isn't that bad though, however we have our differences here, but I still don't like it. Its not gonna kill me, and I can wait. I know it won't change anything (immediately) but I still believe expressing this is worth something.

He's against pre-ordering as a thing. There's no real point in pre-ordering a digital game if you think about it.

 

Jesse Cox is ultra retarded, how is he so popular? Anyway, I still enjoyed the video some since I always like seeing Starbound at least.

 

Sometimes people Pre-order games before they are reviewed. Sometimes those games just so happen to suck. He's not saying Starbound is a bad game, but if the game is something that you weren't expecting (maybe you thought it would be some awesome Space puzzle game but it turns out to be a sandbox. I know, bad example), then you should read/watch a review before playing. Hope this helps.

I just want to know why no one seems to get that the best path of progression should be to first make a house with a campfire for shelter from the cold/monsters, and THEN to go hunting for food/mining...

When I start I'm making the sickest dirt hut you've ever seen, smashing all of the trees in the area, and then making a beeline for the stone/monsters...

Shelter -> Heat -> Food... Doesn't that obviously make sense, or am I just weird?

 

Its not so much "bashing the game" as it is his policy towards preorders.

 

Did you hear how the guys in the video were talking? Not weird, you're just not dumb. I really think though they were after filling a time frame instead of playing smart and/or efficiently. Like as soon as I would have had a few trees chopped I would plant the seeds ASAP, replacement wood near the beaming point sooner. Build a dig-out shelter, light, fire, small food stock, go from there. But I played Minecraft on and off for a few years so this is just a thought process that comes naturally anymore.

 

Ok, for all the people who are going on a Jesse Flaming rampage, let me explain. Some people like his kind of humor. It's kind of wacky and random, which a lot of people like. He's not stupid (he used to be a History teacher by he quit because he hated his job). If you watched his Bioshock Infinite playthough you'll see how he was able to figure out some things that would happen in the story before they actually happened. He's actually really smart, he's just terrible at playing these types of games (and he has a weird attention span. Its Ok if you don't like his humor, I'm just trying to say he's not complete moron. Maybe a half moron, or a waxing moon moron. But not a complete moron. If Jesse annoys you so much, then watch Leth's streams or wait two days to play.

 

That's great it's know obvious he talks that way because he used to teach kids. I still find it annoying I don't hate him but I don't love it either. The only person that can pull off the man child routine in my opinion is will ferrell.

 

I can't stand Jesse. I hope he doesn't talk so much is later episodes. TB is usually a great reviewer.

I think TotalBiscuit might have gotten a tutorial from someone already, or watched a couple of streams himself because he seems pretty in-the-know about weird things like double clicking "e" to beam down, and "e" while standing near crafting stuff to craft for them. (Something that either needs to be explained somewhere, or changed IMO)

So that stuff may not come as such a suprise as someone going in blind, like Leth.

 

You should probably run away for your life not watch this, then. That's Jesse's humor. He's loud and obnoxious and yet hilarious at the same time (imo). He isn't going to quiet down anytime soon. If you aren't a fan of Jesse, then you shouldn't watch.
