TB recorded some Starbound

Pretty annoyed they gave the youtubers early, early access tbh.
I guess a lot of people (myself included) want to be making Starbound videos, and with a bit of luck, get some of the hype like the early minecrafters did.
There's not much chance of a newbie getting a load of views if the big boys have been making videos for two days beforehand...

Plus, if the game is ready for youtubers to play, there must be a darn good reason it's not being pushed for everyone.
I know there've been conspiracy theories about them holding the game back, but now they really are, and that sort of devalues pre-ordering in my opinion.

I bet that 50% of this thread will be people gushing about how awesome the video was and the other half saying how much they hate Jesse.

Seriously though, imo, Jesse is awesome.

 

I'm giving him a reason about why they're waiting until the fourth. They gave the press the beta two days before the release. I think I have a little bit of entitlement to being a jerk when someone is annoyed at a two day press advanced copy, press always get advanced copies, usually much much much earlier than two days.

 

Really there is nothing to pass on. This video is about nothing, they took a 1 minute tutorial and made a 16:45 video out of it. With lots of idiotic comments on the way. Cannot believe these guys are allowed in beta before actual paying customers.

 

Nothing against Jesse, but the video has hardly ANYTHING to do with the game, its just them 2 bickering at each other. This is an LP, the very thing that TB disgusts, being milked. I hate to use this term, but this is 30% sellout, because I'm sure they actually enjoy playing the game, but at the same time, they know of all the money they will get. I can't support this series.

Yeah, press -do- usually get games earlier than 2 days, but that makes it worse really, since, like I said, it's devaluing the pre-orders.

Not gonna bother arguing, since it's happened, and I can't change it, just stating my opinion on it. That's what a forum is for after all...

press already got their copy at insomnia... they dont need them to be getting more... random youtubers are NOT press... they idiots with recording software... sorry to say but half the people that get views nowadays are complete morons... totalbuiscet is 1 of those people... his vids suck and only a bunch of mindless 10 year olds would find him funny.

MEDIA is big company's that will do vids of your game NOT people on youtube... also again like the guy stated beforehand... they crush any opportunity for young youtubers who want to become like the bigger youtubers by giving it to the bigger ones first... its stupid and we all paid the same for the game.

also as for the "sale" they can give us all it without opening it to the public to start buying it

 

TotalBiscuit and people like him push sales. It's really as simple as that.

 

Maybe they didn't actually do much in the video because of the "beta bugs" TB was complaining about. He said on Twitter there would need to be a lot of editing.

 

i don't really care what he does... he should get the beta like anyone else... he isnt special because he has some recording software on his pc. we all preordered the freakin game we all deserve it at the same time.

 

He's not trying to be funny? I think you might want to watch some of TBs not lets plays, which he often say's he hates before you judge him.

If they gave early copies to every "small" youtuber out there then most people on this forum would probably have a copy already, even I have 12 subscribers because of one shitty planetside 2 video I made.

Not without losing a whole lot of sales.

I don't think he paid a cent to get the game. He also has a million subs, not just some guy with recording software.

 

My point is that his videos influence sales, just like the more traditional media. You don't have to like it, but it's just the way it is.

 

if he has not paid a cent for the game he does not deserve to play. he again isnt a big company he is just a guy with some youtube subs no one cares... he should pay and wait like the rest of us. and they wont lose any sells
