TB has been requested

That's not the point. The community getting larger is absolutely fantastic, don't get me wrong. The thing is though, with a certain community from a fan-base comes here, how can we just assume that they will all be nice guys. For example, PewDiePies fan-base are atrocious. Honestly. They go from trolling to ultra fanboying. If a Youtuber posts gameplay of a game PieDewPie has played, they instantly attack them and start saying they 'copied' and I have honestly even seen people posting death threats for it. I guess that's what you want.

 

if you worried about that, just prepare yourself when the ppl of 4chan comes.

 

That's something different. 4chan has a massive variety of different people from across the internet. A lot of people go on it (if they dare). As odd as it sounds, 4chan actually has some really nice people, for the most part. The only part that is toxic is /b/.

 

as i said before, this is not reason to worry about every game nowadays have a "rotten part" of the community.... and again i say alot of bad people comes, but a lot of good people too.

 

And how do you assume they will all be bad guys? Not every community is perfect, we already have our handfuls of trolls in our community right now , you really think this community it's going to stay how it is right now, if you really think we going to be holding hands and singing kumbaya till the end of times then don't be surprised when this community get bigger in a way you never imagine it too.

 

We don't even have a handful of trolls. I have been on this forum for more than a year and in all that time, I have seen about 1 or 2 trolls altogether. That's nothing compared to some. Also, of course I don't think we won't get a share of bad people in this community. I never said that. However, how do you know that the community isn't going to stay like this. I honestly think it may. The devs respect members and the members respect devs.

If you didn't want to get into something like this, then you shouldn't have made the post at all... I believe that was Darthkitten's point. Making a passive aggressive non-comment is usually worse than making an aggressive negative comment, BTW.

 

yeah, but you're pretty much going to get the same exact thing if Totalbiscuit or Pewdiepie plays the game. You're still going to get the awful fans and still going to get people who won't like the game now because that person played it.

That's why Starbound shouldn't be relying on "youtube celebrities." Especially douches like TB or dumb people like Pewdiepie.

Starbound obviously doesn't even need Totalbiscuit now anyways.

There is a difference between passive aggressive and an opinion. But circular arguments are pointless, so are circular debates. My fault, it's the internet afterall and nitpicky people are abound- .

 

you and darth are doing the same thing by constantly calling people out on their "passive agressive" comments. If you don't want people saying bad things about TB and don't want it to be derailed, you really shouldn't be replying to them otherwise you're both doing the same thing.

You guys are blowing this out of proportion. Number 2 goes to E3 as well. Why does it matter if we're Number 1 or not?

 

Oh I could care less what people say about TB, I watched/listened to him ramble on about why people shouldn't pre-order games (or something to that effect) this morning I want to say I found it off the initial like to his twitter account, and I agree very much with what people like Shadow Stealer and others have said. I didn't even finish watching/listening to it because all it was, was him bashing on anyone who ever pre-ordered a game. While some points he made were valid they were so few and far between that I just turned it off as him being an internet gum flapper.

As for derailing... I didn't really care about that either since this is like the fourth or fifth thread now of people trying to start a witchhun/fiasco about this Argentinian abusing his facebook celeb status to get to E3. It isn't about Starbound it isn't about Saibot, it is about a portion of the Starbound community trying to take justice in their own hands to stick it to the Argentinian guy (who's name I can't even be bothered with to go and look up) The ICE3 people already explained why they wouldn't revoke the nomination or change the rules mid way, because it would essentially void the whole contest as people started calling out other nominations for 'abusing a rule' and what not and they didn't want that, they wanted to promote the Indie developers. Next year hopefully they will change their system a bit so that this kind of abuse can't be done.

Also, considering this will be my 20th post on the forum Miss Andry, you may want to recheck your facts on me "constantly calling people out on their "passive aggressive" comments". What Darth does is his/her own call but don't paint me as someone who constantly does something to try and make your point.

Like you, I have no problem calling people out, but tend to only do it when it is needed.

Just so you all know, a community can be culled. Its called banning. And the moderators probably won't be afraid to use this tool. At Least i hope they won't.

On the actual topic, why did someone ask Biscuit to do this? Is it really such a big deal that another nomination is beating Starbound?

 

As much as I hate 4chan, they have very obnoxious power in numbers. Or knowledge, since some members seem to track down people quite easily. It's one reason why I hate them.

 

I don't see what is wrong with Facepunch.

 

You obviously haven't' viewed the garrysmod section, or 90% of their forum.
