TB has been requested

So it appears that the maker of the game wrote about the problem which is very helpful

I came here from a Twit from Indies Crash E3.
I read all the post and the answers.

I just want to make you know that we are in contact with Thaiel since the past year. We contacted him to make him the first guy on You Tube to play the game and so he can help us to expand what we are doing.

He helped us a lot but in exchange of nothing, he recorded and uploaded videos playing the first (and very buggy) version of Doorways.
What he did put us on the Top 100 of Greenlight (if you are an indie developer, you know how hard is to reach that). Unfortunally we are currently stucked in Greenlight :S

At that moment (December of 2012) his motivation was only to help the industry of video games in our country wich, if you don't know, it's not too big at all and the economic situation is right now as bad as any.

So, if there is a guy who we can say is a true fan of Doorways, that's Thaiel. And he is also a really nice person, you can notice that if you just follow him in his videos and social media.

Last week I received an e-mail from Indie Crash E3 offering us to participate in the contest. I was really excited. That's one of those opportunities that happen once in a lifetime.
So I contacted again Thaiel to tell about this great opportunity so we can both (the team and him) get something great about that.

Like you just check, we don't have too many followers in the social media (yes, we need to work more on that) so Thaiel can help us with that part.

Yes, he is also doing a campaing for himself but that's not againts the rules. The contest is not just for the indie devs (like us or like the great team at Chucklefish) but also for the fans who support them.

If you ask me, I really wish both teams (and the fans) could travel with no problem to the E3.
I really respect the devs at Chucklefish, they are doing an amazing work with Starbound and they have a really strong community who supports them.

I was hopeing people would come along and find out about the whole E3 thingy and vote for them. This Argentinean guy just really gets on my nerves

Why the hell are you trying to get him involved? He and Jesse are going to promote the game plenty, leave the man alone.

He gets cranky enough as is.

Bounds way overstepped here. You can't explain a situation like this on twitter.

Asking if TB might give a nod to helping get them into E3? Yes. Was okay.
The drama going on rightnow over the youtube person spuring the current firstplace, being mentioned? Really not necessary to bring up.

 

Oh boy. I really, really don't think calling TB's attention in this manner was the best idea. It's one thing to ask him to help support Starbound - it's another thing to talk about negatively about the competition to him to make it some spiteful game.

 

I know you guys mean well, but, come on. Starbound has gotten plenty of exposure recently and will get plenty more as it makes the round of lets plays and gaming blogs/news sites in the future. I would like to see it go to E3, sure, but I wouldn't have a problem with any of the other less known indie titles going. Hell, I'd be ecstatic due to increased exposure of indie games. But I certainly wouldn't pester people about it. If he helps then everybody will bug him about their own pet projects and such. Just... stahp.

 

The devs have 1 Million+ dollars in their collective pockets, if Chucklefish wanted to go to E3, they'd already be going. :\

 

I'm afraid that's not actually how they'd be spending our money.

 

I know what you're trying to do, and I'm saying trying to get TB involved is stupid, you guys badger him enough he may not want to have ANYTHING to do with Starbound at all.

Just leave the man alone, if Starbound doesn't get featured on E3 it's no real loss, E3 is barely about the games anymore anyway
