Closed Targeted blink crash \ Char is Empty Rectangle

When using the targeted blink, if you get stuck in the ground, you can look look away from the ground when teleporting you can force yourself underground. if you dont then dig yourself and, and keep teleporting, the game can bug up, like ending up somewhere totally random on that planet, or the game might crash, and corrupt your save.

 

This bug crashes servers very consistantly. I have been streaming on twitch, and using servers from other ppl. Someone always teleports outside the home ship, exploiting the bug. When the char gets forced out of the ship area, the server crashes nearly every single time. Easy way for ppl to grief.

 

I am currently having this issue. Someone one another post mentioned solutions. However I was unclear on a portion of his instruction and cannot post their due to a moderator closing the post and linking to here. Can someone help me?

 

I have had Targeted Blink crash me by teleporting be to a totally random underground area, even when I was not obscured.

I was using the Targeted Blink Tech (the teleport head tech) in the City when something happens. I had the mouse in a wrong location or somewhere wrong (to use that tech) and pof! the next i have seen is the background pic and the game crash.

When i try to enter to my char, a runtime exception appear and the game crash of course. Is there any way to recover the save data ? because all the files still here maybe is possible to reset the character location or something if i used the tech in a bad location, i dont know :^|.[DOUBLEPOST=1421123311][/DOUBLEPOST]Ok i fix it , i was thinking correct, you can change the position :^B This guy show how to do it here:

You just need to put a valid position, no matter where because you respawn in the ship always.

 

I highly recommend AGAINST editing your save files by hand unless you really know what you are doing. You'll likely end up corrupting them.

 

Of course i recommend to do a backup of the saved folder before editing. But if im doing this is because the saved file is already corrupted, so there is nothing to lose.
If there is another way to fix it without do this i really apreciate if you tell me how.

Can't corrupt them even more. If it doesn't work already, it's worth a shot, even if you have no clue what you're doing. Following instructions is fairly easy anyway.

 

Can anyone help me? I'll upload my player files here x.X I hate targeted blink now... I think ill just stop playing starbound if the save file is unrecoverable...

Edit: If you cannot recover your game file just edit the position AND velocity. I toyed around with it. OMFG I AM HAPPY.

 

I followed the steps on the closed post and edited the files using a Hex editor but once I edit the files my bad char doesn't show up on the char selection menu anymore so I can't test :c

Edit: Done It! had to copy bites from "movementController" up to "baseModifiers".

 

Accidentally blinked when in the middle of a huge gravel avalanche and ended up in the void.
