This is super simple and still not implemented into the game. (Which surprises me ) At the moment, you can only divide stacks in halfs, but you can't take away items one by one from the stack making it agrevating to get the prefect amount out of the stack. Please take this suggestion into consideration. I know it's a small subject / topic, but still.
This has been bugging me for quite some time honestly, so yes it is a really good suggestion, and I'm honestly shocked I never noticed anyone else suggest it. Sorry if someone did and I just missed it....
In my humble opinion, Ctrl + RMB could be the existing "take half stack" and RMB only could be "take one". That way you could repeatedly press RMB until you get the small amounts I usually take from the long term storage at the ship. Metal bars to be more specific, because I left them there until I need to craft something. And another way I could use that "take one" function would be to take all but one ore types before I left for the surface. That way you make sure the new ores go to the previously chosen slots at you inventory without the need to put there again (yes, I'm a control maniac). What I'm doing now to get only one ore is to divide again and again until only one remains and that's a little time consuming. Not a big deal, but I'd like to see a simpler way to do it, really.

I realize this is an old thread, but I think I'd rather pull it back to the top of the forum than start a new post. A new post won't have the same emphasis as one that has been asking for a feature for 2 years. Contrary to what @MindExplorer said, this feature was not added in the December 2015 update nor is it a feature in the current Unstable build. Is it actually planned? Are they waiting until the 1.0 update to put in the rest of the player controls? Will it be part of some secret update?
yes 2 years and the feature is still not here, still a stupid take half the stack, take half the stack, take half the stack .... until you have a single one. So yes askign when it will come is still valid. confirmed in august and still no here? how long can this feature need to be implemented?
This would be very helpful for feeding pets, rather than throwing a large stack of food out to see if it likes said item, I'd like to just throw one item.
I have wanted this so many times when playing around with cooking recipes and crafting in general. Such a simple thing that would be such a massive improvement
look what you did, now i have a stack of 1000 plant fibers, and i want to split it in half so i can keep a reserve in a chest. now i have to click 500 times >:l but what ever. take the good with the bad.
Wow...this thread has a very necromantic history. Anyway... Shift-rightclick splits the stack in half now.
