Title says it all, if I remove the controllers from the screen they work, but as soon as I put them on the side again they stop. Just downloaded the game, happened from the main menu on first boot.

Could you try restarting the game? Also, could you list out the steps you followed in as much detail as possible so we can attempt to reproduce.

First I've heard of this one - thanks

        Hello,
        I habe a similar problem:

habe played SDV on switch in handheld mode with pro controller, then put my switch in the dock, played a little bit in tv mode (with pro controller) and then I pulled my switch out the dock and wanted to play in handheld mode without the pro controller but the attached joycons did not work

          Same Problem.

Started playing in Handheld Mode. No Problem. Played Docked. No Problem. Started playing in Handheld again. First the right controller didn't work in the game anymore. Went back to the Switch menue, everything worked. Tried paring the controllers again and the left one stopped working in the Game.

Edit: Other Games are now affected too (just tried picross s).
If the left controller doesn't respond for some reason the screenshot function is still working.

Edit2: got it back to work. Took the controllers of the system and did another system restart. Then attached the controllers again.

Notice the same thing ... usually left joy con gets disconnected, after you reconnect it ... starts acting funny... ex; press up nothing happens or character keeps walking by itself ... also played Zelda after STV for a bit and left joy con started acting funny as well.. never had this problem with Zelda before.

Reconnecting joycons only fixes for abit.
Thinking about uninstalling STV And hoping that fixes other games joycon issues.
For me it only happens when system is docked and using joycons.
Tried Zelda again in handheld mode and didn’t have any issues with my joycons.

@Childish_Albino @Dude13fd @Wartankerr Do you all have pro controllers as well?

Next time it happens, would you be able to minimize the game, select the 'controllers' menu option and check what controllers are attached? If it's using the joy-cons, the left side of the menu that appears should show one of these:

              upload_2017-10-9_11-30-53.png upload_2017-10-9_11-30-59.png

If it's registering your pro controller instead, that will show up on the screen.
