I've been searching jungles for the supposed swamp biome and I've yet to find one. Apparently they're supposed to have frogs, muddy water, and swamp houses.
They exist. Found one on like my second fresh jungle exploration. The houses the frogs live in are basically shanties made of random bits including iron blocks and bars. Make sure the jungle world is fresh including banana stalks, coffee, pineapples and avesmingos.
From what I noticed none of them were merchants, which I identify from giant backpacks. May have been an unfortunate no-spawn, and there were only like 3-5 houses, but I wouldn't call it cannon or anything.
I happened across some frogs in a swamp biome on my first jungle planet, so I can verify they do exist. And there were at least 2 or 3 vendors among them. One of which sold me these really cool little tiny lights on a string that you can decorate with. Other stuff for sale was meh, but I can confirm they are in there. Unfortunately they were massacred on my first expedition by the local fauna so they weren't there when I went back to buy more lights.
That's why I enclosed one in his home with some dirt and plopped a flag down so I can warp to him any time I want to buy more Fairy Lights. (And I tore a hole in the back wall so I could warp out.)
You can use the furniture from the Swamp mini-biome to get your own frog merchant tenant that sells you the same some of the same stuff and some unique items. http://starbounder.org/Tenant
Fun thing - The Frogg merchants that you get as tenants can potentially sell you exclusive items that you can't obtain from the ones you find natively.
Pffft. I got more weapons than I'll ever need. Lockers full of them. And they'd be hard-pressed to displace the favorites visually anyway. More weird stuff to build with, though? NOW we're talking useful!
You called me? I'm almost sure it's decorations. I spawned one again and again and I got something like a car, a safe and the most important a coffee machine There are probably some more that I didn't see or forgot
Sadly, I don't have the time to make a detailed list with true ingame item names, but here are the relevant excerpts from the assets with the item ids, slightly edited for clarity: Sold by both Swamp Froggs and Tenant Froggs: "bomb" "oillantern1" "molotov" "fairylights" - rarity: 0.2 "grassseeds" - rarity: 0.2 "lanternstickback" - rarity: 0.2 "tier2chair" - rarity: 0.2 "trashcan" - rarity: 0.2 "generatedsword" - parameters: "commondagger" - rarity: 0.1 "medievalregister" - rarity: 0.2 Sold by just Swamp Froggs: "dustybed" - rarity: 0.2 "dustychair" - rarity: 0.2 "bathroomtrash" - rarity: 0.2 "bathroomsink" - rarity: 0.2 "cardboard1" - rarity: 0.2 "cardboard2" - rarity: 0.2 Sold by just Tenant Froggs: "bardoor" - rarity: 0.2 "oillanterntall" - rarity: 0.2 "frogstatue" - rarity: 0.1 "safe" - rarity: 0.2 "guillotine" - rarity: 0.2 "woodenarmchair1" - rarity: 0.2 "medievalswitchshackle" - rarity: 0.2 "coffeemachine" - rarity: 0.2 "generatedgun" - parameters: "commonpistol" - rarity: 0.1 "recreationalvehicle" - rarity: 0.2
...how does one get a Frogg Merchant? The wiki's Tenant page is a bit undercomplete there. (Or is this nightly only so far?)
You have to use the swamp furniture set. Wiki says a hylotl spawns, so I was surprised to see a frog in my planned hylotl colony
All amphibians, so no real harm right? Anyway, the reason from before I never learned that the frogs could be merchants was because they literally say "..." and that originally through me off. As it turns out the red capped froggies are the merchants and if you speak with them they will lead you back to their shop, like a normal merchant. Again, the "..." threw me off.
I've found several Frogg villages and made my own swamp house. I bought a vehicle, but it had flat tires. I also bought a guillotine in case the guy doesn't fix the tires for me.
