    Hello:) nice! I haven't released updates in a while though because I'm doing plenty of biome and monster modding. The next update will be great and with different tier progression :) really hard dungeon planets with bosses etc. to reach next tier! Keep that in mind when playing this version.

    Thank you so much Durlock! Happy to have you! The volume was low huh? On the game? I noticed it was low in episode one but it should be good in two. Let me know!

    One of my subs mentioned it'll wipe characters and possibly the universe. Can you confirm?
    As far as the videos I've put up the first one yesterday with a link to your mod.

    In theory, it will only require a universe wipe. But, as a lot of new content, biomes, planets and a different progression will be added, I highly recommend creating a new char too! ;)

    Hi. First of all I like the Survival Mode very much. It's difficult but still balanced.
    Unfortunately since the new weather i have lags and such a low fps-rate, so the game is hardly to play. Most while the storms, but at normal wether as well. Is there any idea why?

    yeah it's because starbounds fps performance in general is very poorly optimized.. I even have low FPS with an i7 cpu and gtx580 in starbound vanilla. Ridiculous... Nothing I can do about it I'm afraid. Let's hope an update will make it better for low- and mid end computers in near future.

    try playing in full screen mode. you will have less visual range but with better fps (at least in my case :p)

    taking about storms, have you noticed that the stone showers during the heavy storms destroy the tile block where it falls BUT only when it rains from Left to Right --> ?
    i dont belive its a problem with your mod right? Survivalist only affects weather chance right?

    There are 2 different storms. One with stones and one without stones. Maybe that is what you are experiencing? :)

    aw man, so sad. the vanilla runs very straight at my machine. the survival mod without storms too, but at the moment the storms beginn ist near unplayable for me. fullscreen helps a little bit, but doesn't solve the problem. the worst thing about it is the hanging cursor. if i'm attacked by monsters, i will die because it took too long to beam me to ship.
    could you tell me where i am able to switch the storm off in the data? its sad to put the storms off, but at the mometn its the only way to keep playing

    meanwhile i made a littel list about some experiences with your mod. and also some ideas.
    again i have to say, i love the survival mod. it brings the idea of loss in space better much better than in vanilla. i wasn't at the higher tiers, so my respond is only about the start.
    i know in the later game it will lost a little bit of the survival theme because you gett better armour and weapons. so maybe you could stretch the first tier a little bit.
    • what do you think about a slingshot for the fist hunting weapon with the same stats as the first bow. so we can get a better bow later for the tougher monster. for the sling you need plant fibre and cobblestone
    • again the idea of expanding the hunting for the first time. how sounds a trap for monsters build from wood and a monster heart. so you can get meat and maybe survival point too. for me the way to the death bow was nerve-wrecking. i died so many times because i had to hurt the monsters with the hunting bow and then smash them with the wooden stick. i get much leather, hearts, skins and meat because of the hunting bow. but i died so often and my points were gone. the throwable burning wood didn't help very much because it needs so many survival points. after all i get less of it becaouse of the drop rate
    • the grass helmet and armour gives me a great rambo feeling - love it. but then i get the anvil. unfortunatelly the copper armour wasn't really better than that one made of plant fibre, the iron helmet isn't better than that one made of grass. don't know if that has changed with the last updates. meanwhile i am at the beginning, i had the anvil some updates before
    • i like the idea of the wrecked ship very much and i saw your new smaller ships. but why shouldn't it be possible to repair the primary ship with the destroyed strorage room? you could set items there which couldn't be destroyed like the new campfires. maybe only some furniture, a storage box or something. but to be honest i wish a little vita chamber there to be placed. sometimes there are so many monsters around my house, so i die bevor i am able to reach my bed. with that configuration it's still necessary to find a place on the planet to build a home - and that was your originall idea i think
    only some ideas. maybe you could get some inspiration from them. go on, your mod is great

    oh, one last thing: is it possible to install starbound twice, so i can make my own survival-mod standalone? because i want to try other mods too, but they are not compatible.

    copy and replace the files in the starbound/mods/SurvivalistMod/weather/fogweather folder :)

    I am in fact working on traps as we speak. Armors are also being looked at and rebalanced to fit the mod. For now you can get the best tier 1 armor with the spinning wheel, Shadows outfit. When it comes to no bed in the ship, that's unfortunately something you have to consider when you are far away from home. An emergency solution is the gapahuk ;) I'll look into throwable wood price.

    Yeah. Well, with the one with stones in it, ONLY when they fall from left to right they destroy the tile block where they fell. If its a vanilla thing, then nothing to do about it, but just wanted to ask :)

    weird.. yeah has to be a bug from vanilla I suppose. It is a standard projectile config just like vanilla ones... ;)

    Hey wanted to say thanks for this brilliant over-hall! Literally decided to buy the game after i read about this mod! Convinced a few of my friends to buy it also. I really don't think we'd be playing starbound at all, if I hadn't stumbled across the survivalist mod!

    We run a server between us and have been playing together, i just wanted to ask when you update this, or the game itself updates I'm expecting it to wipe the universe (the base we've built etc) but can we keep our characters? With their equipment? I noticed playing on a different server we lost our star map upgrades, so i imagine we'll have to start from scratch?

    BTW saw you were looking to do blood effects etc, the blood mod hosted on these forums works really well with this mod, no conflicts as far as we can see!

    Also...

    Small (probably difficult to implement) suggestions:

    Any way you can make it so we cant just beam back to home planet? (Also only beam to ships within a certain distance of you? As in friends ships only if their in the same cluster?) Its cheap and i was so immersed when i first found myself stranded and needing to hunt for coal, that finding that little trick out kinda hurt the game for me! It would be awesome to have to actually travel to collect a stranded pal...

    - Water system, maybe even disease etc. I wonder if its just a case of antidotes and status effects? I just really want to quarantine a friend in an airlock. It would be hilarious. Is it possible to have a chance of getting a unique to planet disease, that ranges from lethal (rare) to harmless (common)?

    - Weight? Maybe not weight but inventory size would be cool (Resi 4 style)? I thought that backpack would increase the size of the inventory but it didn't which is a shame. Survival games are all about preparing correctly for a task. Inventory management and space considerations would help allot with this feeling.

    - This is a crazy one, but is it possible to do a locational damage system in starbound? As in broken legs? Slow walking, inability to use two hander's etc.

    - Maybe even friends dragging you under cover from a rock storm? :)

    Either way man you've made this game something i wanted to play and i think i probably speak for my mates as well. Starbound seemed too "friendly" till we came across this mod, and when we saw how it could be played we all jumped in.

    thnx for your feedback :) The next update will be launched asap, but theres some work left and I won't launch it until I feel it is completely playable. It's close to done though....

    In theory character wipe will not be necessary with the new update, but yeah, sectors have to be unlocked again as the universe has to be wiped. The progression, recipes, items and a lot of stuff have been changed too, this is why I would recommend creating a completely new character aswell.

    when it comes to your suggestions, I'm afraid locational damage system aint possible for me to do, I just don't know how to... Diseases though, I'll look into adding that to a new slimy planet with zombies or something. Backpack with inventory space is in my "future plans" list, and I'll try to make that possible. Beaming and teleporting changes are on the same list, and hopefully I'll manage to make it much more limited than it is atm. :)

    Blood is already added to the next update!
