Why exactly does the crafting bench cost 850 survival points? That seems like an unnecessarily large amount for something that is required to progress for a new character. It also means getting 850 survival points with a shitty stick that does 3 damage, without dying, unless I am completely missing some alternate way of finding a weapon that doesn't suck, aside from maybe exploring and being insanely lucky with a chest.

It's an extreme difficult survival. That's why.

So just because it's an "extreme difficult survival" instantly means you need to spend hours making the thing required for everything else?

Right? I am stuck walking around space. And if i go too far in one direction I just fall for like 30 seconds and then I'm not even on the screen anymore but can still beam down. I think I'm stuck between dimensions lol

in this mod you won't get a nyan cat gun + atomic bomb in 5 minutes. If you don't like it, you don't have to play it.

When it comes to how to play the mod, you have to choose. If you try to rush the simple crafting table, you'll probably die cause of less HP etc. From the start you can craft bush clothes and death bow etc. if you choose to.

That first line is you putting words in my mouth. I never said anything about getting an overpowered weapon within 5 minutes, or even that the actual mod is too hard. However, the beginning is way too slow. When it takes hours to make a crafting bench because one out of 5 enemies will drop 10 survival points, in order to make an item that takes 850, and is required even to just get a very slightly better weapon, that seems to be needlessly time-consuming. It all comes down to luck, and either just cheesing the enemies out by making a bunker, or be suicidal and run around trying to get points faster. The bush clothes do not really help, either. It'll make enemies do, what...2 less damage? Still 3 hits and you die, so they aren't that helpful.

Just trying to explain where I am coming from. Not trying to be rude, if it sounds that way. Voicing my opinion on the mod, at least for a new character.

I find myself agreeing with Vladdy in just how much of a frustration it is to amass any amount of survival points early on, I havn't even managed to get myself the bush cover basic armour because i'll get to the 150-190 range and then get suddenly bodyslammed from offscreen by a hitsquad of ninja lizards and promptly juggled to death. But on the other hand i do feel like trying to rebalance for that would detract from the survival aspect.

Maybe some way to turn the "Trophies" we get from monster kills (leather, monster heart, glowing tooth etc) into a low amount of survival points at the start, so that we can steadily hunt up the survival points without it being a roll of the dice whether or not we can earn the Survival points we need before aforementioned spontaneous acrobatic reptillian murderdeath?

Or at the very least up the drop rate of survival points without increasing their amount, getting 10 points from your seventh monster kill only to lose half of it to the eigth becomes an excercise in frustration.

yeah np. its just that in your first posts you criticize hard without any solutions to the problem which did sound rude. This morning I was a bit grumpy maybe;)

Balancing the mod aint easy, and I will continue to improve it. I'll have a look at current treasurepools as we speak, cause they might have been altered or not working correctly after the update. 10 SP drops should not occur...

What my idea of tier 1 was, is different "stages" kind of.

    Stage 1:
You fight monsters, strive to survive and get enough SP for your simple crafting table. Every drop from monsters counts, it's not luck or a waste to get monster hearts, skin, leather, lucky bone etc. You will need all you can find for later. It is probably the hardest stage and will take some time. But that depends on what monsters you meet and how well you play. You start with 250 SP, which means its actually only 600 SP for simple crafting table.

    Stage 2:
Simple crafting table allows you to start farming wheat and other stuff you can find. It also allows for digging for materials with the stone pickaxe and with dynamite you can get a lot of resources in one explosion. Resources may be traded for SP later, especially if you find diamond which is very valuable. In this stage you'll probably feel more secure, and may craft even better amors and tools. SP can be found pretty easily under ground in piles of skeleton bone.

    Stage 3:
Crafting table, anvil. Time to start researching too. In this stage you'll have to do everything. Explore planets, get SP, dig, farm...

That being said! This mod is very much still in beta stage. There's a lot of work left...

I will release a new update later tonight. :)

yeh, mod got unbalanced with the Furious Koala treasurepools. I'll try to make it balanced again, but it needs testing...

Anyone got problems with weather sound effects suddenly not working?

You know, I like this Survivalist Mod(Even if I could never get enough SP to get the first crafting table). But I think this mod could be a lot more if it could combine with Industrialization. Your mod is perfect for that just starting off aspect of it, with a derelict space ship hovering above a planet. Hell, maybe one day you'll have the ship be crashed on the planet and a person has to repair their crashed ship, which could incorporate the distress beacon and why you make it... Getting sidetracked back to point.

Industrialization though combines the later aspects of it. Building yourself a space faring empire, industrializing a planet and so on and so forth. Cause, I'm sure it's difficult to keep the whole survivalist theme going once you're going to the X sector and wielding weapons of such unholy fury that the gods themselves weep with envy for their weapons. I mean, you could tweak it so that the enemies keep getting tougher and weapons be limited in damage but in the end that creates a power creep issue to where you constantly have to increase the strength of the enemies while downplaying the weapons, it could get insane.

So why not have tiers 1-2 maybe even 3 and four be Survivalistic stages of growth. And then go from there into a industrial stage where you've conquered your need to just survive and now attempt to produce and build. Perhaps even needing to build a starship that can you to sector five and beyond. But that's far in the future. For now, why not talk with the industrialization author and see? I'm sure two amazing modders working together could produce a mod of such awesomeness that the GODS THEMSELVES SHALL WEEP AT THE GLORY THAT IS PRODUCED!

I rambled a lot, tl;dr version is this. Combining Industrialization with Survivalist could create an awesome mod, thank you and good night.

hello there! hehe :D thanks! I'm still thinking of how the other tiers will be like. I have many ideas.. and yeah, it won't be like "survival" in all tiers. Some industrialization kinda stuff might happen ;)

i think theres a problem with the gapahuk. If you place it on wood plataforms you can see yourself sleeping (pic 1)

also, what would be the diference between the red bandana and the leather bandana? They do the same..

Thats it. Keep up the good work!
