Survival, building, rpg? Does it always have to be combined?

    OK, first of all I want to say that I absolutely love this game, and I think it has a great potential. GJ so far, I'n aware it's in a early beta stage.

    Though, I have been thinking alot about what I would like to see in this game in future updates, and how this game can become much more entertaining and varied.

    I'm an RPG player, I love survival games, and I also love to be creative and build massive stuff, but these possibilites always in combination will in my opinion eventually ruin the fun of the game. Theres also plenty of other flaws which limits my experience atm.

    1. suggestion:

    For me, building dirt walls to trap bosses in weird OP positions where you take no damage yourself in the battle, just ruins the fun.. I thought on how to solve this problem for a while, and I ended up questioning why one could always build stuff no matter what. A possible solution to this could be, for example, a solar system containing planets where your building equipment suddenly is disfunctional and where you cannot drill nor pickaxe because of extremely hardened ground. These solar systems should contain small exciting planets, which one has to explore to find the tier boss. They should also contain alot of other monsters, dungeons etc. etc. Maybe the whole planets could be like a dungeon. You would be able to unlock these solar systems through a quest. Maybe solar systems with binarysuns could be where the planets with bosses are and the epic fights take place? Binary Suns mod: http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?resources/binarysuns.57/

    2. suggestion: PvP planets, no building tools, clan wars maybe?, players from same tier stage, a few gold bars per kill + overall kills and death stats. Plain and simple stuff, doesn't have to be massively advanced shit. These planets could be "hosted" with servers, when you travel to it, you join a different server.

    3. suggestion: your own home planet with safe zones where you and your group can build in peace. If other players online visit that planet, they can still kill monsters, build, loot, but only outside your designated safe zone. This is to avoid your base and work getting destroyed online by other players. They should still be able to see your masterpiece of a home base tho and your safe zone should still be visited by monsters, weather and meteorites :)

    safe zone planets and stuff doesn't have to be forced on people. This should be optional. I think many people like to play the current way, where their home is exposed. You should still keep planets where you can do everything at once ofc.

    4. suggestion: beeing able to build stuff inside the spaceship destroys the need of actually having to build a home on planets. Atm it feels like a waste to build your own home, I'm tired of building without any purpose. Building crafting items on ships should be more restricted or maybe even removed. I know alot of people use the ship editor to make even bigger ships, but why?!? It will eventually get horribly boring.

    5. suggestion: One should not be able to teleport back to ship in the middle of battles, or when you perform actions. Solution: disable teleporting in battles, and when outside battles one should only be able to teleport when standing still. Also, players should reconnect the same spot they disconnected from. Now one can mine deep inside a planet and just exit, reconnect and get back to the ship.

    6. suggestion: Different game modes, more variety in how to play this game. For example hardcore survival mode, if you die, you lose all your inventory, if u survive for let's say 50 in-game days, u get rewarded....

    7. suggestion: Drowning is too easy to avoid, one simply cannot drown in this game when having a pickaxe.

    8. More weather effects, for example snow storm and sand storm which leave alot of snow and sand on the ground that can bury you and your house.. Earthquakes?

    9. More destructive and explosive stuff, enemies with weapons that can crush more of the ground. Big blasts etc. Missing some crazy action atm:D

    1 has potential
    no to 2 (i dont do pvp)
    3 sounds good
    4 yes yes and yes stop the use of ships as mobile factorys
    5 yes
    6 meh not bothered
    7 i dont like drowning
    8 nice idea implementation could be tricky
    9 not sure could be good if done right but ruin game if done wrong
