Notice Supporting Starbound

Great idea

P.S. I've got a random idea: when you are in a good stage, send some sort of download keys to some people to test it. This way people can spread the word a little better

 

I think this is a great idea! I loved Terraria and have been reading about this game and checking out the forums for a while now. Anything to help develope this game and get it released sooner is a awesome idea

 

I think that maybe if you do donate, and you donate enough to be able to get both the indie game you are offering and Starbound then we should be able to get a copy of Starbound at launch, or if its a closed beta, then be able to get into the Beta automatically and get the final game free when it comes out.

Example:

Unknown Game = 5$
Starbound = 15$
Total Donation = 20$

if no beta or donation doesn't count towards the beta, you receive: 1 copy of Unknown Game + 1 copy of Starbound

Or if beta, you receive: Automatic Beta Access + 1 copy of Unknown Game + 1 Copy of Finalized Starbound

This would basically be pre-ordering, which may be a good idea. It doesn't sound like the dev team are really that interested in raising funds pre-release though. I suspect they have budgeted properly and aren't running out of funds. Extra cash won't speed up the release anyway unless additional resources are hired with it. That seems unlikely, it's a bit late in the game to bring in new blood...

 

It was just a thought, and yeah they probably have a good budget, but still it isn't too late to hire anyone... they just recently hired some music people, Radiation and Solatrus, from the Homestuck music team.

 

Whatever helps you make this game epic, Im sure we will be willing in everyway possible to help.

I got Wanderlust when they did a promotion w/ free keys on reddit.
I bought a few keys to support them. Still have them, maybe i'll give them away here.

 

I think donators should get early access to they game, whether it be Alpha or Beta.

 

So, I get two games when I buy?

I think any way to support the game is a great idea.

 

Would love this idea to be in action. Would buy multitude of copy's for me and people I know as to help development.

 

I haven't read all the post, but it does seem like a nice way to get funds. Although, I would like to propose this : http://www.kickstarter.com/ as a funding solution. You can set pledges so that if someon gives you more than, lets say 30$, he would get the game at the release date. If someone gives you more than 100$ they could have a special mention in the credits or a npc named after them... Personnaly I would certainly pledge.

I dont think their looking for that, they would of already done so by now.

Someone mentioned it could potentially be the game wanderlust

But we dont know yet until Tiy Officially states something
(but wanderlust does look good, i hope its that =3 )

 

It is better to help each other than fight and quarrel. So in my opinion it would be very good to take such help from other developers. Of course that means also that You should be ready to help others in similar ways.

 

I would love to help by giving my game, but its not really profitable though Would love to help any way i can

 

the lack of information makes only aa study of the proposal at face value, 50-50 split or whatever determined between the devs and chucklefish is a good idea, does this mean though for the love of the day that starbound date for beta and final realise being pushed back even more due to extra dev time being needed or more goals.

And the fact the game hasnt been put out means the proposal is less secure than if tiy had named the game outright ill go back to waiting for something solid ( seems a constant theme) half ideas half information and just a lack of solid its more like a gas ( which is lots in space and planet atmospheres)

 

That gives me an idea... It would be pretty cool to have fishable fishy fish. You could eat them and restore health, or maybe a minecraft style food bar.

 

I would do anything to help this game out. I loved Terraria, and have been waiting to see another game similar to it.
