free copies to anyone in the top 10 of the Wanderlust Most Renown board, or whatever that is.
that's about all the confirmed free copies (except for Developers, who don't have to pay for their copy of Starbound), that have been confirmed to my knowledge.

This sounds like a great idea, it would add profit to whatever game you partner with (I am inclined to suspect Terraria ) and add massive support to Starbound.... I honestly have fairly little opinion on the reward system for the donations, simply the game itself if the donation is above a certain minimum, maybe some interesting in-game rewards for large enough donations? I would donate just out of a want to ensure Starbound and hasten its release

It's a great idea, getting a good game to support another that I desperately want to obtain  Keep pushing towards the release and i'll be happy :D

So I bought Wanderlust: Rebirth with three Friends because we wanted to support Starbound. I must say you chose a superb game for sharing the income - Wanderlust is extremely fun to play with a group of four people and we are sure, that Starbound will be the same with even more friends. :)

I would rather buy/preorder Starbound and get access to early alpha builds of that, ala Natural Selection 2. I saw wanderlust during the steam sale and passed it up, it looks visually ugly and from the trailer the gameplay seems like a bland clusterf***.

Edit: I actually asked some people if they had played it and what they thought of it, and this is mainly what I got

"The controls are wonky out of belief. It's like the devs wanted to make it a xbawx title, but couldn't get picked up, so they put it on PC.
The cursor looks like an analog stick, the camera swings wildly to and fro, and the actual gameplay itself is like a dull two-stick shooter with stats.
    Buyer's Remorse."

So yeah, I would LOVE to give you money and get something in return, but not that.

Well I just found out about this opportunity to contribute to this great project and for one I am quite pleased with this possibility. Sure Wanderlust might not appeal to all, however you can both contribute to Starbound, which would be our main goal I guess, but also get something in return. No downside for me on this one..

And congrats on The Wanderlust team's for their generosity. A 4-pack is already on my way :)

    Good luck for both teams.

You know, games are not always about graphics. If it's deep and entertaining, doesn't matter how it looks. What actually suprises me is, that people are playing games without a piece of story just because it has good graphics (like Serious Sam serie...). Wanderlust is actually pretty good, but these people would rather die than play something that doesn't have HD graphics...

Coudn't agree more. If I would pass on visually unnatractive titles I would miss many great games I have tried so far..Wouldn't have hailed Cthulhu for instance and maybe even Terraria.

Does it manage to entertain you? That's the main purpose of a game is it not? Doesn't matter if it's engaging for its visual appeal, deep story, replayability value or whatever. As long as it hooks me up..

The graphics are only a minor negative point, I mainly don't like the look of the gameplay. it just seems like kind of a mess. This post actually reminded me I found out they have a demo which I was going to download and play and forgot about it, so I will check that out actually.

I must agree, that in trailer it looked like one big mess, but when I played it for the first time, everything suddenly made sense. But as SaitaM said, and I strongly agree with this, game must entertain - that's the primary purpose and if you don't like it, don't play it. Only thing I wanted to say was, that people often judge games only based on te look or rewiews from critics. Everyone has to first play (even a demo) to know what is any game like.

Anyways, If you're going to try demo, then enjoy and have a nice day! :)

I did try the demo. It was possibly the least polished PC game I have ever experienced. No resolution options that I could find, and the dude I quoted before was right about the way the camera swings around being extremely nauseating with no way to disable it. The game is unintuitive as hell, the tutorial was flat out broken as it was telling me I had LMB to attack and shift+LMB to alt attack, when in fact it was defaulted to LMB to attack and RMB to alt attack, and shift brought up some weird screen with a bunch of runes on it. Confused the hell out of me for like 10 minutes. The interface frequently shows what looks like an xbox joystick even though I don't even have one plugged in and have it disabled in the options menu.

Dark Souls tier console port at best. Least impressive game I have ever laid eyes upon.

When I first saw that picture of fishes in the sky, I though... 'Oh there are alien fly fish in flocks, interesting... This will make the fishing contest like duck hunt' ;P

That sounds like an absolutely wonderful idea! Good thinking!

Oh, also... It appears that this afternoon on the planet SuperUberAwesomeness, there will be high-force winds and a heavy downpour of fish. This is the most awesome idea in the world. Back to you, Starbound Dev Team.

" Frankly I think if you're going to send us your money you deserve to get something in return. "

Wouldn't giving donations to the company provide more resources for you to create a better Starbound, thus giving us a better game in return for our money?
We WOULD be getting something in return... something we greatly desire... :ninja:
