Re-adds some removed beta stuff

    not exactly but me and my pal can replicate the problem easily enough to get a log or two. and i'm pretty sure we have the same version. i kinda am adamant about havin' the mods on the same page.

    we do know that it happens with the following gun types though:
    -Avian Blasters
    -Pulse Rifles (given the other pulse rifle related mod i have is named 76gun along with variants of that, i doubt overwatch (the steam mod) is causing conflicts.)

    untested:
    other racial guns.

    works without a hitch:
    plasma weapons and default weapons.

    disregard all posts from me on my problem. i found the issue.

    we didn't have the same version after all... ironic seeing as we even did all that we did to make sure we had the same page.


    Final update on the issue:
    Fixed it, was actually user error. (sometimes it's just more foolproof to only have one place to get/apply the mod)

    but yeah, at least we know something new about how starbound handles mods in regards to having both the steam version and the manual installed mod.

    first of all it appears to prioritize using the steam version, second of all it tends to not even notice or spout a useful error message "hey... there's two versions of the same mod, better crash it in the middle of the gameplay with a vague error!"

    It seems the 1.9 update broke my procedural gun generation, I can't seem to use them, they just freeze when I try to fire them.
    I tried to reinstall the mod from here, but now my game is crashing.

    EDIT: I uninstalled a couple of mods that I thought could be the source of the problem.
    My game isn't crashing anymore, but the guns are still broken.
    Any advice would be helpful in solving this issue.

    Gee, looks like lots of people are experiencing problems with the new update.
    As always, NO LOGS, NO FIXES. Everything is fine on my end and I have no idea what's going on on your side if you don't provide any logs.
    I'll try re-uploading the mod to see if it fixes anything.

    The log you've provided only shows the cause of the crash, which you claim has been fixed. Can you provide a log which contains information of the guns freezing? (Launch Starbound, get a gun to freeze, exit Starbound, post the log)

    I use SteamOS/Linux for the game, and the recent 1.9 patch had rendered useless virtually all of the procedurally generated weapons from this mod. The guns that I had that weren't converted into Generics freeze in place when I use primary fire; certain secondary fire abilities like flashlight and energy lance are still usable from these weapons. Also, when I tried to spawn the weapons from this mod, they turn to Generics.

    I tried to use the Steam version and the Original version, both at the same time and separately, and they still yield the same result.

    Using both versions at the same time is a no-no. Can you give more details on exactly what you did in the session before you provided the logs?
    Also, make sure the mod has been installed properly, with the .metadata file inside the first folder inside the 'mods' folder.

    I started on my ship when I began the session. The first thing I noticed is that most of the weapons from this mod were converted to Generics, yet some of the weapons were still intact. I had a lot of weapons in storage on my ship. I began to test the primary fire of the modded weapons to see if they could work, but they froze in place; I tested a few weapons just to be sure. I also noticed that the color palette changed for these weapons. Once I had tested enough weapons, I then initiated Admin mode and tried to spawn a Globe Launcher, but I got a Generic instead. After that, I closed my session and took the logs.

    I tested the original client-side patch for the mod only.

    The metadata was present when I had tested the mod.

    I can explain the generics.
    As of 1.9, the rarities of weapons no longer affects the damage they deal when compared to weapons of the same weapon type of other rarities. This makes globe launchers having different rarities obsolete as rarities would only affect the price of the weapon. So instead of having 'commonglobelauncher', 'uncommonglobelauncher' and so on, they were all replaced with 'globelauncher'.
    Weapons like assault rifles remain unchanged as different rarities have different projectiles.

    As to why the weapons froze, I don't know why. I have encountered the bug in the process of developing the mod, but that has since been fixed.

    By the way, I was asking if the .metadata file was in the right place, and not whether it was present or not.

    I tried spawning the weapons again, this time a Globe Launcher and a Lightning Coil, and they don't turn to Generics. However, they still freeze when primary fire is tested, though the Grenade Launcher with the Lightning Coil works as it should.

    mind checking the vendors? i have a feeling you didn't update the gun names for the merchant npcs as they're selling Perfectly Generic Items. i've been meaning to mention this for a while but i just now recalled.

    It would be extremely helpful if the description actually says this. "Unsubbing won't affect your whole game, but just those bunch/pair of planets you found that had a mod generated dungeon." I didn't really know how it works. This would be a very important reminder for newcomers.

    It might be helpful to remember that everyone plays a little bit differently. :) I, for one, always return to planets where I built colonies.

    I can't seem to turn off the shield generator at the end of the Apex testing lab. I'm not 100% sure whether this is a bug or a mod conflict, however I don't believe any of my installed mods touch that particular item.

    Edit - I figured out you're supposed to blow them up.

    He doesn't need to make a patch specifically for Weapon megapack, he can just fix it by using patching properly, and not by replacing the vanilla treasure pools.
