Maybe once you have a planet set up and everything you have to make sun monitoring system. It can detect If a super nova will occur, how old is the sun, and if there is a Giant Cow is farting in it to keep it burning.
I don't think supernovas will be in though, because I don't think planets are actually arranged in solar systems so they don't really have an actual sun to go around. It would also be massively annoying if your homeworld got destroyed by a supernova.
Hopefully if they do have it like that it wont be for billions of years and if i does occur they should be a way to stop it like are sun will die in 8-6 billion years (correct me if im wrong). It would be annoying.
This could be an extremely, extremely rare event (as rare as the pokerus in pokemon) that somehow is extremely rewarding and adds a lot to the game. That would be good and the only way I could see this in the game.
