Hey everyone, its me, Dynafols! BWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH This is a rather simple suggestion, if this game has a search and find type feature or style in it, like finding special items, then hear me out on this suggestion. Some of you may have played Pokemon, and some of you may know that there are shiny pokemon, and the chances of finding them are beyond nuts. So, what I'd like in this game are some nutty rare items in this game that will basically make you squeal like a little girl in excitement if you come across one of them. I don't recommend making these rare items boss drops because it wouldn't have the same feeling as it would be if it was randomly rare. As for the items, I don't know. Maybe a golden shotgun, or a space cookie, or perhaps just a shiny animal (pokemon reference).
I like the idea of super rare and/or hard to get items. The feeling of finally getting them is great. I just don't like when they make it an incredibly long grind fest to get the items.
I also like this, maybe make some of the procedural generations extremely unlikely. that way there will be even more difference between characters. but then again, if they have 21000 rocket launchers... any ONE of them is rare.
Unless like 16000 of them are common possibilitys, 4900 are fairly rare, better rocket launchers, and 100 are super high, rare tier?
Yeah. I hope they use procedural generation for all weapons. That would make an insane ammount of weapons, lol. I hope the procedural generation for weapons gives them/some different stats and attributes as well, instead of thousands of the exact same weapon only with a different texture.
One thing I want to see the most is how they pull off this procedural generation without having 1 or 2 of the possible rocket launchers completely redundant and useless. If just ONE possibility is messed up, someone will get it eventually, and one bad weapon could make or break a playthrough. (Potentially.)
I totally support this idea. I'm a sucker for trophy cabinet worthy items. Absolutely loved that jaw-dropping feeling when a shiny showed up in my old pokemon games, it was the main reason I played diamond for a while.
This would also prevent running and ignoring low level monsters, because this one could just be the one who drops the "super awesome baby sapling"
That is a MUST! I hope those rare items will be somewhat special, like a rocket-launcher which shoots sticky-homing rockets, which stick to the enemy and explode when you decide to let them!
I was scared at first that these rare items would need to be balanced by making them do insane damage but then you mentioned "Shiny Pokemon". So if they're just meant to be end game items that look really cool why dont you give them random special effects like the unusual hat's in Tf2?
I'm not sure if these ultra rare versions of existing items should be better than normal variants. Instead the difference should only be cosmetic. Like for example there's this sword in the game that is very large, does massive damage but quite slow. A ultra rare version could look like the Buster Sword from FF7. Certain vanity items could be ultra rare random drops as well. And these vanity items should be quite appealing items, like a tuxedo or, like the buster sword, a reference to another game or even other forms of media.
The idea is mainly/mostly vanity style items, or items that could be normally obtained but unique in its own way. I could have a normal shotgun, or I could have a golden shotgun, only difference is that the golden one is shiny, but a lot rarer to obtain. Basically your "shiny pokemon" of Starbound.
u know what would be awesome? a super awesome rare golden pinguin u can befriend and he could duel wield shotguns and throw gernades around
Made this a while ago. The vanity variant of a minigun shoots lasers that do same amount of dmg as the original bullets, just looks more high tier
