Yes some of you may know this saying from "How I Met Your Mother" but I am not using it in the exact same way. Now Companions, Team Members, Workers on your ship, I presume they have their own clothes. Well what I want to suggest is that We throw their clothes out the window and make them Wear a Uniform, which you can customise, and tweek. Say you find an awesome helmet, you can make everyone on your ship wear it, or just specific people. So with this feature you could make everyone aboard your ship look like the Enterprize team, or space marines from Halo. It is all your choice on what they wear. Or you could keep them in their original clothes, your choice.
Great, ya, cause I want all my guys to be uniform and dull, without personality or flare. I get your drift, your gonna be the guy who runs a tight ship, military dress, common action, chain of command, all that jazz, where as I'm the pirate who'll woop your butt because every member of my crew thinks for themselves, as well as taking orders. Joking the ideas nice, but I'd rather be able to CHOOSE whether my crew is wearing a uniform or if their all in their own dress, and whether I determine what that dress is or not.
I definitely think of this when I hear those words. Your idea might be nice as some kind of an option to the player. I see no problems with that.
I see the point in giving them a default uniform, at least to start with, but found items should remain singular and you may even be able to give items to specific NPCs you own. I don't think having them all get a helmet you got as a random drop being a good idea, though.
Ha just to clear the Air, you don't have to have them in a uniform, I did mention that it is all your choice on what they wear, did I not? So they can or cannot wear a uniform by your choice
