Do you think this should be part of the base game?

I was exploring a planet the other day and i found it kind of odd that every planet has something on it. I was thinking that since there are so many planets out there that there should be many of them that have never had someone on there surface thus being untouched. These would offer players a chance to have some worlds that they use just for mining purposes as well as a clean slate to build there empires. The suggestion I have for the star map side of things is that every planet has a indicator that flags it in the star map as either uncharted, unexplored, explored and settled. These each have a obvious meaning but add another level for the game play as a example.

Settled: For a settled planet this means that there is a high probability that there is a npc village on the surface based on one of the current playable species. This would let players that need to find a town or village have a much more easy time getting quests and so on from the villages. However these planets would be lower on resources since it is already being exploited for the existing colony.

Explored: For the explored option this could indicate that the planet has of course been explored and maybe has a few small facilities on the surface but they would be fewer and the planet would have more chances for underground mini dungeons and resources. This could also have a added feature so that on multiplayer servers it could also indicate if a player has previously been there by tagging it with a Explored by (player name here) and for the npc explored planets that would be replaced by the species that explored it.

Unexplored: For the unexplored planets means someone was nearby and scanned the planet from orbit but did not find anything on the surface worth landing for. This could let players have planets with untouched surfaces but the possibility for more mini dungeons and resources or no mini dungeons and lots of resources. Also this could also give the option for the player to find large Hidden military bases or reaserch facilitys that one of the know races may have built in secret hideing it on a unapealing planet.

Uncharted: Finally the uncharted planets would mean that the player is the first person of the know species to ever come to this planet. This opens up a large range of options one would be it has the same options available as a unexplored planet. Also this could open up the option of finding large ruins on the surface for species that have long since died out or finding a pre-spaceflight species on the surface that the player could interact.

I think this could ad another level of dept to the game. A example in x dungeon you find coordinates for x planet and if that planet is uncharted or unexplored then you just found out there may be something nice on this planet.

Just a suggestion not sure how difficult it would be to add in but i think it would be awesome.

I would really like to see this in the game, as I feel like planet generation is slightly dull right now. (Or it's just me, :3)
So.... Have a pros and cons list.

    Pros:
    + More detailed planet gen
+ Easier to find what your looking for

    Cons:
    - Erases the feeling of going onto a planet with no idea whats in store for you.

if your talking about my planet scanner, you dont have to use it. or if your talking about her planet indicator flags, you could just ignore them. problem solved.

I think both of our ideas could be really handy and make a lot of sence. My planet flags just give the player a vague idea of what could be down there were your scanner could tell you exactly what minerals and such you could find and on the uncharted planets they could let you know if there are surface structures and such.

I also added a poll to the page so if you have not voted yet please do may help the devs notice how much this is needed and wanted.
