Stuck at "Preparing to Launch Stardew Valley"

I just downloaded the game today. My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad, it meets the system requirements. I tried to launch the game through Steam, and the w"preparing to launch" window will flash open before closing and the game never opens. I've reinstalled the game, verified the integrity of the game files, I've tried opening it through the .exe file, updated XNA framework, I've restarted my laptop so many times now. I'm not sure what I can do anymore
