Answered *storyline spoilers* Question about the Ark post main-game

So I completed the main game and wanted to start a new character. Pretty common. But when I made it to the Ark ruins, all the allies who joined you throughout the missions were still there, even though I hadn't completed the main game on this character, and the portal to the Ruin was open to boot. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be happening, but it happened twice on new characters, and again after uninstalling, reinstalling the game. It may have been because I didn't go through and delete the game files from my computer (or they'd saved over Steam) but still. It's not game ruining, per say, but I'd like it if the Ark would reset for each playthrough. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I'm running on a Macbook Air, OS El Capitan, 10.11.4. I'm pretty sure I have the latest update. Thanks in advance for the help!

 

Sadly the progress toward the main story is linked directly to the universe itself. I THINK there might be a way to go into the universe's files and undo your progress? But I wouldn't know exactly where to look and what to 'erase'...

But yeah outside of that, the only way to reset the progress would be to delete the universe folder, then boot up the game again to start a new one. Maybe make backups of your characters first so you can bring them in.

 

Alright, thanks for the help anyway. I was kinda afraid that would be the answer but it was worth asking anyway! Maybe devs will change it later, but who knows? Like I said, it's not game ruining.

 

isn't it possible for a patch/mod to give us the option to make the story-related characters and elements invisible to new player characters?
