Storing pixels is way too expensive

I remember my 6 story wooden mansion catching on fire after a lightning strike
and losing my entire underwater village after my hard drive broke as well as my village inside a building.

It was a very large building.
It had working shops and everything.

 

I rarely ever have above 1k in order to use the pixel compressor anyway
due to dying, buying items and crafting.

I have a gigantic pile of items
that I plan on scanning too.

 

Pixels are so stupidly easy to get. That penalty doesn't even matter

 

Pixels are a complete non-issue once you get sufficiently advanced in the game...tier 3, I'd say. The only time after leaving Beta that pixels were an issue for me were when I was building a diamond drill...and the creature capture station, and my tier 4 armor at the same time. That's about a 10K pixel aggregate cost if I remember correctly, and the "issue" was that I had to walk over to the chest to grab three 5K voxels I'd already compressed to foot the bill.

The refinery exists for a reason, use it. No, it's not such a BIGDEALANDIDUNWANNA to just grab excess ore as you explore the planet to refine. Yes, when the game's beta develops further and ore generation is fixed, it may be a big issue...I probably would have had to jump to another planet and beam down to go mining instead of skip the Delta sector entirely with ten minutes' preparation time.

 

Yeah the banking fee is really stupid.
