Stopping new characters from living on the same world?

I recently deleted my old character (because I hadn't played in a while and wanted to start fresh), but when I beamed down to the starter planet with a new one, all the changes I had made on my old character still existed. This is a problem because all the nearby caves are mined, trees are cut, and dungeons are looted, so starting off again is much more difficult. Is there a way to "delete" the old world, and start on a new, fresh one?

 

Yes, go to steam, right click starbound and click properties.Then go to the local files tab browse the local files, and delete the universe file it should be in giraffe storage.It resets all planets and everything as if it was just generated.
