Stop complaining about possible wipes!

I was going to reply to three separate threads regarding this, and that's just the ones I've spotted (not including one I already replied to) so far.

"i hope we can haz saves backed up" "why u no allow keep game?" "I MAKE PROGRESS".

I'm sure some of you have seen the above lines or some variant therein.

Yes, I understand people slam their face into the "I ACCEPT" button when the terms of service are shown for most programs because they're overly drawn out, but Tiy really made it EXTREMELY obvious when he wrote that the first phase of beta would be full of wipes. You have NO reason to complain or be upset about the wipes.

 

expecting logic / reason from people on the internet is like expecting a rabid german shephard to not rip your throat out. no matter how many times you grab these people by the neck and slam their skulls into the walls, they will never, ever, get it.

 

"But I PAID MONEY! I should get whatever I want!"
Not much you can do really, ignorance is just that, the willful bliss of ignoring the truth in preference of your own beliefs.

 

Also considering in one of their posts before the beta they specifically posted a YOU SHOULD NOT play if and a YOU SHOULD play if for each of the 3 phases of beta which were also adequately summarized.

 

When someone does something stupid or annoying, even if it's expected, you don't act like it's okay or forget it. You reprimand them. Otherwise they will never learn.

 

It'd be one thing if the devs were being dicks for little to no reason (see the current Xbone banning fiasco).
It's another when you're in a buggy beta test. Stuff is gonna happen.

Thing is, whether the 100,000+ people that preordered the game realize it or not, we're basically their TESTERS. As someone speaking from experience, there's only so much you can test yourself before you need to hand it off and let other people do their thing with it. And, obviously, as of the moment, the stuff they're doing is altering a lot of data (hence the 500 MB downloads.)

Sooo.... yeah, if people want to complain, then boo-hoo to them. Call the Wahmbulance. Nobody's under any obligation to play the game in its current state, you could always... well, you know... wait.

 

The internet is full of ignorance and stupidity, they will get over it or leave in the process. Wipes are needed when massive changes are done to game mechanics, everything we have so far is not even close to set in stone therefore it's all expected to change. People don't read and just assume this is the final product, just ignore the threads and post pictures of funny cats

 

Seeing as how neither of my characters have even left my ship due to bugs, and are starving too death in their cargo bays, My complaint list is very small, and pretty simple. I would jsut love to get to playing in the next day or two.
