    Steam has a join game function. please streamline server configs to integrate this so that i can simply hit join game for the promised drop-in/out co-op without using a hamachi server. port forwarding is ridiculously difficult for me. im on a WNR2000v3 router and have everything setup however it says my ports arent open. if anyone can help me do this or if the starbound dev team can integrate steam servers rather than the starbound_server.exe (i cannot even find the program it is not in my starbound directory) ones that would be great.

    Hey @The Doctor if you are looking for your starbound_server.exe it is win the Steam/stamapps/common/Starbound/win32 directory! Ask me if you want any portforwarding help :)

    @Coffeeman i would love some help with port forwarding, and i found that launcher but the last line it gives me is "shutting down alpha world".

    heck at this point id even use team viewer or something similar to just let you do i for me, i am terrible at this stuff. O.O

    Even though it says that, the server is still up and running. At least it's always worked for me and my friends.

    @The Doctor , @Psychospark the reason your servers keep shutting down is because they time out before someone connects to them. In the file universe_server.conf in the folder assets in your starbound directory on line 12 it reads
    Code:
      "worldInactiveShutdown" : 30,
    try changing it to
    Code:
      "worldInactiveShutdown" : 3000000,
    that will keep your server from shutting down before you can connect to it :)
    @The Doctor you wanna try hosting a server and connecting to 127.0.0.1 (your own computer) and see if it is a problem with a server? If not i'd be happy to guide you through it!
