Well, Bartwe is working on a big status effect project, so it got me thinking, why not think up some, see if anything I (or you, its fun to think up this kinda stuff, try it) come up with is any good enough, I'll be adding as I think of them. Basic format: Idea # Name: Effect: Application Method: Flavor Text: ~~~~ Idea 1 Name: Bubbled! Effect: You will be surrounded in a giant soap bubble, you will be at 25% normal friction, and jump higher, also falls will be slowed, You won't be able to attack, And you will float up in water. If you are attacked/hit a wall or ceiling/times up the status ends with the bubble popping loudly. Also, if there is some sort of wind current, you will be blown away violently. Application Method: Applied primarily by fish, they blow a burst of bubbles onto you and you get trapped and launched away, Also I suppose we could include a bar of soap as a useable item, for the lols Flavor Text: This would be cooler without fall damage! Idea 2 Name: Oily... Effect: Covered in oil, loss of traction, slide down slopes very quickly Application Method: Monster sprays goo on you, swim in an oil deposit Flavor Text: Dude, wash your hair Idea 3 Name: Tentacle Rope Effect: Dragged towards the monster, can't move for duration. Application Method: Monster stretches a tentacle and grabs you, dragging you in and holding you. Flavor Text: It says "ROPE" And for if someone else comes up with better their own ideas, don't need to follow my format, Thats just to make it easy on myself. Name: Stung Effect: Drains 5HP per second while also slowing the player down. Application method: A bee creature successfully hits you with their stinger. Flavor Text: THE BEES. Name: Metaphysical Dichotomy Effect: Movement controls reversed. Application Method: Special attack from a psychic enemy. Flavor Text: You're not sure what's real and what isn't anymore. As a result of the confusion, you can't tell where you're going. Name: Panic Effect: Accuracy and rate of fire reduced. Application Method: Significant damage received from a powerful enemy. Flavor Text: You fear that this battle may be your last, and are barely holding it together. Name: Electromagnetic Disruption Effect: Some energy depleted. Energy regeneration slowed. Application Method: Special weapon, used either by an NPC or another player. Flavor Text: A high-frequency radio bomb has interfered with your energy systems.
On a serious note, the more Status Effects the better! Although the bubble one in my opinion doesn't make much sense because why is it specifically a soap bubble? Also, I think the bubble would just pop instead. I do like all of the other suggestions though so you have my support.
