Domains are costly. Maybe he's waiting till it comes out to buy it.

Starvault is back on dev track. I've been cought with client work and didn't have so much time for Starvault. Now the domain is back up and I'm back at this. I didn't quit yet

Why should I, as a random web user, ever come to Starvault if the Official Starbound Website lets me know everything I need to know before Starvault does?

That is a legitimate question, I am honestly curious about this website.

 

I'm kinda full of ignorant people like you...You don't even understand the real concept of Starvault, right? Starvault is a blog where you can find awesome stuff from Starbound. Know what that means? It means you'll be able to find all kinds of places found by the community, see awesome buildings for your inspiration and read tips about how to make it in the game. Now I'm sure you'll say that you can find all of these on the forums...Well, you can, but Starvault is aiming to select the best.

Starvault is not going to give you information about the game like those made-out-of-boredom blogs and YouTube videos where people highlight what's new in each update. That's for kids.

This thread is meant to gather feedback from peopel that are interested and like the idea. If someone thinks this doesn't work, then why even bother psoting? I'll make efforts on developing this website and bringing this idea to life. I'll do it simply because I enjoy it. If there are other people that like this idea, they are welcome to provide feedback and even help me shape this. People that are not interested, don't have to read or follow the progress. Simple as that.

I'll write a new brief for this project, answering frequently asked questions so people won't have to make useless posts.

 

The Starvault Project

First of all, you may be wondering what's Starvault is about and what's the void it's trying to fill. Starvault is simply a blog. It's not a Let's Play broadcaster. It's not a second voice of the Official Dev Blog.

Starvault's goal is to publish findings or creations submitted by Starbound players or even by me or the Starvault team. Starvault is better than the Official Forums simply because you won't have to crawl through a bunch of posts that may not interest you. We will do our best to select the most interesting stuff published by our users. Building a small team of people that will select submisions from our users is a very good solution in selecting posts for people with various tastes.

I, Cosmin Negoita, will design and develop the blog with the goal of making a user-friendly and straight-to-the-point website. No unnecessary stuff like distracting ads or begging for donations. This project will be sustained with my own income. The only ads you may be seeing are the ones that will have strong ties with the game and other websites related to the game such as server lists, interesting forum threads like Clans or Servers Owners themselves, the costs for the ads being a simple link-back to our blog.

I highly ask people that are not interested, to navigate away from this thread, as posts like "This blog won't be better than any other" or "Why would this be better than the Official Website?" will not affect the development of Starvault or help me in any way. This project will happen because I enjoy it and I want to do it, either there's someone who is actually interested or not. I won't be selling anything so I will have nothing to lose if this won't be followed by others.

For the people that are interested, please post feedback ro suggestions. Ideas on how to make this blog more entertaining are always welcome and I'm open for debating. One thing I had in mind was to actually hold contests with great exposure to the community as rewards.

It would be better tho if people stopped judging Starvault untill it gets launched, because things could change over development time so nothing you knew may be the same.

Starvault will start publishing as soon as Starbound will get to the community, be it ALPHA, BETA, GAMMA or OMEGA.

I'll be happy to answe constructive questions all the time, but don't come here seeking answers of why my blog will be better than others and stuff like that, because no one said it will in the first place. It's just another option peopel could choose. If they prefer others over this, then so be it. I'm not trying to compete against others. Everyone has it's own unique thing to say and show so there's a lot of room for thousands of blogs like Starvault as well as there are thousands of Let's Play YouTube channels.
