Starting planet doesn't change

I haven't seen this particular part of the newest update talked about at all. Maybe I'm just bad at googling things, or I'm not using the right key words, either way this has REALLY been bugging me.

Now, I don't know about you guys, but I have a tough time starting a game. I make characters CONSTANTLY, and since no race has any more benefit over the other, then I'm playing for looks... And by damn do i like the looks of a LOT of the races in this game. To a point where I've made at LEAST 1 character for each race...

But... Part of the fun of starting a new character is to have a new WORLD to start in as well! At least it is for me. Not only does it add to the wonderment of "What am I going to get and have to deal with this time," but it just feels... Right... I don't really know how to say it... So let me use more words.

I'll admit, I LOVE being able to just easily transfer starting weapons and clothes to new characters (Avian commoner shirt + Floran survivalist pants/Novakid Black Pants are my favorite combos on females), but that's about the only good thing that I've seen come from this. Yea, sure, you can just rocket your way past the first little bit, grab tons of core fragments and just be on your merry way... But that just kinda ruins it for me. I want to explore that world, and figure out what's there and what's different and how I'm going to survive and blah blah...

I dunno, I guess it's really just a minor gripe, maybe I'm the only one it even bugs. I could just delete the map data and start again from there, but deleting that data deletes everything, so if I wanted to make a new character with a new map, I'd have to think about risking ALL of my planet data just to start over... I dunno... I just sucks the fun out of making a new character, and I guess making a new character isn't the only thing this game has, but when you want to see all the different armors, and all the different weapons, so you make all the different races and want to play through each one...

Could we at least have the option of starting on a new planet when we make a new character? Even if it IS on the same world file as the others?

Or, something that just occurred to me, is this SUPPOSED to happen where every new character starts on the same world? Or are all of them supposed to start on a random world? Well, whatever, beta is beta, as has been said, things are bound to change.

As someone who plays all but one character in hardcore mode. It is very very nice to have a home base to retool after you accidentally fell to your death (again)

I guess. I mean, I can see the perks either way... I'd just like to choose between having a new planet, or use an old one... Oh well, I guess it's not TOO terrible, it just bugs me a little.

the devs should make it so: You start a new char and spawned on a lush planet in a gentle starsystem... now the clue: everytime in a different corner of the universe. So you can go back to the planet of all other chars(coords and progressing needed) and have the fresh feeling of survival on a new planet...
