Starship System/Planet Log + Naming

There should be a tab when you're sitting in your captains chair, that shows all the planets you've been to that you've logged. So what I mean is when you fly and explore your planet, you pop back up to your ship, and sit in the captains chair. There should be a button just like "Set home" where it would say something like "Log Planet" and it then saves the planet in your data base. You can then later check back to your log, showing the coordinates, and click on the said planet and then it changed your star map to that planet. Also in your log you could add descriptions so it's not just "Alpha Maya 2049 II b", but rather the planets name and then under it have a quick description of something, say "it has glitch town/merchants" for a description. And as for the naming, you could name the planets you log. Now this won't officially change the name of the planet but it will add the name under the official name when you select the planet. So in your log of many planets, you can name each one to better organize them, or for fun, or whatever you like. I just think I should at least have the right to name my home planet, and I think keeping in-game track of planets would be a nice addition.

*I should add that if this suggestion has already been posted, great minds think alike, it's just I'm too lazy to check the threads to see if someone mentioned this.

 

+1 from me :-D Additionally you should be able to share those Planets with your team on a server. That would be most epic, because right now you have to tediously tell your friends this "short" coordinates

 

This would be great. Right now I've been keeping track of it manually for our group, but it's really time-consuming and awkward.

That would be awesome. For multiplayer, you could even send planet data to other peoples ships. For example, I have a planet exactly like Earth, I could name it Earth II

 

Like everyone else I support the idea. We should be able to log much more tho I want a book i can write in.
Oh and why is this in vehicles and mounts? Better put under mechanics.
