Hey I've been using StarryPy for a while and just yesterday, after patch, my entire server crashed (It's running on a Win 7 machine, 16GB Ram, also used as my current personal computer.)

Seems that Starbound needed an upgrade.
I upgraded starbound without a hitch, then ran my self-made batch file to run the starbound server, wait for 120 seconds and run the starrypy server.
It booted the starbound server fine, but the starrypy server just crashes on launch.

It starts to open, checks for the 'Locale' of some sort, and just crashes afterwards . . .

I've had that issue in the past and simply deleting all of Starrypy (besides the config) and re-installing solved it.
I'm wondering; Is there a way to keep my starrypy server up to date at all times, or do I have to re-download it every so often when Starbound updates?

Quite frankly, I find re-downloading something 10 to 12 times in a matter of weeks to be annoying, is there a way to have an auto-updated concieved for this?

    Thanks for the hard work!

You could write a batch, that updates StarryPy via git and run that regularly.

Hey, could you send me that part of error message you get with locale?

I've put that back in to set the date/time display to your locale, and its still in catch try block, so pls send me that in private message, I'll have a look.

Edit: Sorry for many pulls, but we're reworking some stuff for 1.x version and its not complete yet. Soon I think.

You know what would be another cool feature? Being able to set planet side messages. Like when someone warps to a claimed/protected planet will have a welcome message that the owner of the planet could set.

    Cool idea yeah FuzzyThor.

Also the all "Someone beam to the planet" maybe making it not global, and display the message to only to people who are on the same planet that the guy beam down.

The /whois is not working if the Charname has more than one space charakter.
For example /whois "Hello World" works good if the Char is called Hello World.
But /whois "Hello World Me" is not working if the chars name is Hello World Me. :(
Ban Command works with more than one space character.

    Still using https://github.com/CarrotsAreMediocre/StarryPy.

Seem to have problem with this. I need some type of "business edition" of activepython to use the pypm install etc. but it work's fine with pip server.py.
Is there any other program that I could use instead of ActivePython?

For Windows its the most convenient way, you can go with regular one and install the requirements manually I guess.

    How would I do that?

    https://www.python.org/downloads/
But you'll have to find and install requirements by yourself, I used the ActiveState Python.

Edit: They won't come along with default install, so find these and copy them to python plugins folder I guess:
    sqlalchemy
    twisted
    enum34
    construct
    nose
