No combination of password/no password/space-as-username etc will yield anything other then a password incorrect error, no matter how proxypass is set.

It's really frustrating that something as simple as not having a password still doesn't work right.

 

I am also now getting this. was working lovely yesterday and now whenever i try to join even without a proxypass it says wrong password

Shut down the server, copy both the configs to another location and delete the originals. Then restart starrybound and see what happens. You should be able to connect without password.
Make sure you're not using the config file with account/pass combo filled out.

 

Thanks that worked. I guess starrybound is corrupting the configs every now and then somehow.

 

I have yet to see this I am running two servers with starrybound. One a test server with many restarts, hard restarts. Most I have seen is user error.

 

OK, my wife can connect from a DIFFERENT computer on the network but i can not connect to the same server on the same machine!

i have just reinstalled starbound and starrybound and she gets on fine but it keeps telling me wrong password

 

Make sure when you connect, you connect to 127.0.0.1:21025 , not 21024 or with any other field filled in.

 

worked, I was trying to connect on my internal ip of 192.168.0.8 and that normally works, but not now it seems

 

Routers like to change internal IP addresses. If you're ever setting up a forward so someone from the outside can join your game, make sure to set your pc to a fixed ip address. You can do this by letting the router recognize your pc or by editing your network properties on the computer you're hosting the game on.

 

thats just it though, my internal ip is still 192.168.0.8 as thats the ip my wife uses to connect to this server and all the others i host

Thats due to issues with your network or the server dropping data.

 

So Project starlight merged with this, and still no actual linux support without having to basically rig linux to run it.

Anything will this change? or will there be no support for Linux in later versions?

 

It supports linux just fine. What do you mean having to rig it?

 

I think he meant that it doesn't run on linux natively. It uses Mono.

 

Java doesn't run natively as well. Nor does Terraria, Minecraft and some other games.

 

I believe there's more to this, for example some times i or any staff do /restart or /shutdown, we are the ones being "disconnected" on the moment we do such commands, end up with an error "connection dropped by parent server / end of stream". All the chat sees the message "Server is restarting on 30 seconds", but still server never gets to restart, same with shutdown. After we're disconnected from such, it's incredible hard to get back on the server, need to kill the starrybound process manually.

The funny thing is that, it seems the connection just get frozen as soon we do the command, we can still see the chat going, but we can't chat, we can see still other players moving and doing stuff around, but we can't interact with nothing... till we see the server drop message that takes up to 1min to show.

 

Does this software have the same use Tshock of terraria?

 

Would suggest a change to the script for names please, to have ability to find anywhere in the name when a query is made

thus we can ban people named "The Admin" with just admin and also things like ToLower for names so capitals don't matter anymore.

I was wondering why this wasn't implemented in the first case.
