  1. Also anyone can create a new gun on Mods Folder (or use the "infinite guns / armor mods already on SB forum) and bypass that setting and still grief everything. I can block settings but i see this users that spawned the matter blocks containers to be using Creative Mode, and we can't block creative mod or any other mod with that setting.

    This is a thing that i believe the most reliable fix to be the Proxy to be more strict into what lets players do, at least on Spawn Only.

    Asset digest will block anything that adds content, I tested creative mode mod, it blocks that.

    However, if you decide to directly edit the "copper armor chestplate" asset and make it give you 100k health, it will not block that.

    Even worse, there's this avian weapon thing that shoots dragonballs, people can mod it to shoot hundreds of them per second and break everything for you if you havent got that projectile blocked.
     
  3. I did not notice that. But that is even worse...
    Because the big majority of the players around are using this or that mod, so if someone only added a "texture pack" Mod, won't be able to play on server. Even i use mods for help me with building things when i need, that's why this option seems to not be a popular option around server owners.

    Well yeah, it's not so popular because it doesn't even exclude the songs folder, which simply sucks for a lot of people. It has been reducing lag a lot though, because most people can't bother to edit the assets directly, but the ones that do mostly do it to grief servers, causing super-lag.
     
  5. While the Starbound DEVs are more focused into "cute vanity stuff" over server software, i believe the proxy should try to help this... The big majority of this exploits are done via projectile modding, i believe if they can block all projectiles at spawn will discourage this kind of people to try to cause issues (because they always want to hit the spawn to show-off, they won't care to travel to another planet to be able to cause trouble).

    Thus, if the wrapper dev made a projectile whitelist instead of a blacklist (for spawn only), it would be far more useful.

    Do you need to delete the old version before installing the new one or will it do it when you zip the file win 32 folder?
     
  8. You just replace the files, and delete the players folder (if it's 1.1 to 1.2)

    Could you add commands that displays the coordinates your characters at and a command that lets you teleport to coordinates?

    They have this already, well for the coords. Add this permission "client.find": true, and type /find

    The problem is people can use it to find other players (/find [name]) so it's a bit game breaking... Im hoping they separate the permissions out for that.
     
  11. Yup about the /find there should be a permission to staff to be used by them, and other permission to don't allow such group users to be found (builder planet).

    There is a issue with the new players format. I already got dig several times on the files because there are players with player files that got corrupt, they delete and create a new one and from sudden they are blocked from Playing on the server. It causes a complicated issue because we must manually delete the files to let them enter again. I'm unsure what can be done to help people who created a new char with the same name to still be able to join.

  13. @Mortalsinn with me was staff, no special stuff as we don't allow it, but lost the main player save file, created new and could not enter because the old one on server did not match UUIDs, that is a bit complicated to deal with.

    They DID mention that you had to delete your Players folder when updating to 1.2 and that you'd have to redo the ranks and such
     
  15. 1 - The clones are still around. But the thing got a bit more serious, now they disapear after some minutes, but till then if the player who left tries to join in, if the clone is there, server will return "name already in use" error. I think @Crashdoom is already aware of this.

    2 - Is the /broadcast broken? The message doesn't show on the chat. (fixed after a restart)

    3 - How do i add one player to a group with they have a space on their name?

    We did, this happened after. If a player file gets corrupt they delete and create a new char, but won't be able to play anymore on the server because server will return that such UUID is not a match for the json file.

    they just need to write the server so users pull stats from the server assets folder, not their own.. problem solved
     
  17. The server restart issue crashing Starrybound on mono seems to not be fixed. Do you need crash logs?
    I did notice now a VERY VERY HARD "lag" abuse from 1 player, less than 1 FPS certainly i could not even write the commands to restart the server, so i crashed and did it from the ship.

    EDIT ---
    I can't join the server to restart it again! The server madness of random disconnects / server did stop responding / unknown server version and unable to Join Server is back sadly. :(

    EDIT 2 ---
    A new error joining the server: Client did not respond with handshake.

    RIGHT! Remember they said, the server would be coded to handle all hardware you throw at it, and how dedicated they were to code efficiency. Plus the many promises for Multilayer. Yes I know its Beta, but CORE MECHANICS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THEN VANITY!. I Agree.


    Also I block all projectiles but bullets at spawn. It discourages almost everyone. So less lag, and a ton less greifing.
