Outdated Starfoundry v1.3.2

Automation megamod including energy, pipes, magnets, data transmission and more!

Mod is fantastic, I wish there are different design for the Energy Relay. Something more dull for metal industries or smaller so it blends into the wall.

Yep, the relay graphics are just a placeholder. In the future they will either have different appearances to match different tilesets, or be part of a separate invisible layer like wire nodes.

Do you have any info about the range for the Energy Relay how far I can put them? If I have a gate between rooms and especially a design of a ship, the relay won't goes through wall as I know and I will have to make a hole in one of the wall to let it pass. Can the relay (future) mount on the wall sideway (like lamps, spotlights) and recontact from other side to transfer energy?

A type of relay that's solid and can be placed as part of walls? Sure, we can do that!

Ugh, yes... this is a bug I've seen before, but never came up with a good solution for. Just bear with it for now and we'll release a fix in the next day or two. Thanks for the report!

I think they can send energy at a range of 10 blocks. Which means 9 tiles between every relay (I think?).

Well, I can't wait. I need the liquid extractor function since I have a loop that controls when it turns on. I found a solution. It would seem that for whatever reason, the spaces can not be defined using negative numbers. So I simply replaced the 1.2 coordinates with 1.1.

    Code:

I've played around with the thermogenerator and it seems neat, but it wastes a lot of water unnecessarily. When water leaves the pipe spout and starts to flow on to the tile, it begins to dissipate and when you couple this to the loss of water due to liquid water tile destruction by the thermogenerator itself means more water is loss than loss through the energy generation alone. Instead of pumping water out of storage, could the thermogenerator accept water as a second input? This way you do not need to dissipate water onto tiles.

I'm not sure what you mean by dissipating water onto the tiles. Water only seems to disappear if you have very very little of it on the ground. Just keep the generator submerged all the time and no (or at least minimal) water will be lost to that.

Edit: If we just make it two inputs the thermogenerator would be quite dull. It is meant as an interesting side-grade to the normal progression, an optional generator that is a bit more advanced than what the main progression will allows for at that tier level.

Thanks for the reports, we'll have a bug fix update for these soon!

Hmm, is there a way to Config the how high the Gravetyelevator field reatches?

You can chain them to each other. Place one above the other with a space of ~10 blocks and they will each activate in turn to get you to the top.

In that regard what is their size in blocks about 3? as If I can get them to work in both directions that would be amazing for Star Trek style lifts. or if there is a way to push around blocks in more than one direction I could actually make full on lifts functional. I still don't know much about this system but want to learn it because if I manage to figure out shipbuilding in starstructor and combine it with assets from this mod in the foreseeable future there could be fully functional ships from the various series with lifts to boot. as I would be able to make a lift "space" big enough for all of the components and then because starstructor now reads mod files to boot, tell it to use parts from starfoundry to implement the elevators. That notion makes this mod high value in my mind.

    I think it's 4 blocks wide.

Anyone else having trouble finding the Gravity Elevator?? They aren't on Rasa or the Foundry. I have the current version because the recipe is there o.o

Say, I made a pipe down to the core, but it's not pumping (it does pump when I draw the pipe into a pool of "real" lava.) Is the planet core mechanic different from other lava?

I see, so higher tier generators will be more efficient? With respect to the thermogenerator, I made a water loop to test efficiency and I came up with 30-40 water units/ energy unit. Does this sound right? When you compare that to the combustion generator, which takes in 25 coal and put out 200 units of energy per coal, it seems very inefficient. Maybe I did something wrong?

Well, is your pump near the infinite lava? If it is not, the chunk is not loaded and it will not pump.

There's a lot of problems with chunk loading. The problem is that the pump you have down at the core is not loaded, and if you go down there the tank you have at the surface is not loaded. So the pipe just cuts off wherever the loaded chunks end. This is not something we can currently solve in any reasonable way.

Same problem exists for energy, quarry, and anything that operates long distances away really.

Edit: Or maybe the lava itself is different. There is a conversion from endlesslava to lava whenever you pump it, but I haven't tested that at the core so I can't say for sure that it works.
