Stardew Valley Xbox One + PS4: Known Issues & Fixes (Patch 1)

Hi I'm playing on Xbox one in fall of the first year about 20 hours in. This has happened multiple times on dec 23 between 8pm and 9pm eastern time. My game won't even go to the load screen. I click on load and it crashes. It says looking for saved game and it's crashes. Music stops and boots me back to Xbox dashboard. Any help would be appreciated. I also have the current update.


Updated I just uninstalled the game and reinstalled and it's crashing still before it gets to the loading screen. Same issue as described above. I can't even play the game at the moment.

Xbox One S. 3rd day, Summer 2. Game crashed during sleep about 10pm EST. I re-ran the day and didn't put anything in the shipping box that time, the game saved properly and I'm now in 4th day.

Before the patch, I had crashes a couple of times. Each time I re-ran the day but didn't put anything in the shipping box. Each time I was then able to save correctly and continue.

 

Sorry i know this doesnt help you out ata ll but I just want to say that I love your profile pic. Most people couldnt say who that is. That essence of great rock n roll is gone. But hey maybe try reinstalling the game? I will warn you that before the recent patch people were losing saves upon reinstall. Not sure if that was fixed or not.

 

if you go to the menu theres a tab with a stop symbol (red circle with slant going through it) in this tab you will find the "exit to title" option.

 

• (Need More Details) Crashes while loading save files (PS4)(XB1)

110 PM - ~11:45 PM Eastern Standard Time on Xbox One. Game rapidly flashes the save file when I click on it, briefly shows the controller icon with button controls, and then reverts back to the Chucklefish Games logo as if I had just initiated the game. A Forsaken Fart is the gamertag, if that helps at all.

 

Having this exact issue since yesterday.

My Xbox was offline I clicked to use offline saves and then clicked load and it crashed without displaying any saves.

I've since resynced online and it still does the same thing, tried deleting local save multiple times and have hard rebooted but still crashes before displaying any saves to load.

Tried to show how far the game gets before freezing and returning to dashboard in the video below..

This video shows exactly what happens to me. Only difference is I wasn't playing offline when it started happening.
today I tried playing again and no luck.

 

Platform: Xbox with patch installed.

My saved game will not load but another saved game does. I get to the Load game screen, click on my saved game, get to the Loading... screen, then the game heads back to the Developed by ConcernedApe screen. I've already tried restarting the Xbox.

 

24th 4pm eastern standard time.
We'll I tried making a new game today to test it. Played through the first day and exited to title screen after saving. Went to load game and it does the same thing. Won't even go to load screen just crashes back to dashboard. This sucks. I really wanted to play this over Christmas but the game is unplayable. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Does it help if we include our XBox Live gamertag, or does that matter?

im on xbox and it keeps freezing and crashing sending me back to the dashboard. Its happening if i complete bundles, go in the casino or entering the coop if a chicks hatching.

 

Playing on XB1. Game reverts to title screen when attempting to load saved file under my gamertag. Can load save files under another profile on the same system. This started occurring on 12/24 at approx 80am, have not had any loading issues prior to this.

 

Xbox One: Achievement Progress Tracking not working
On Xbox One players are normally able to track their progress on achievements where a percentage 0%-100% shows how close we are away from unlocking a certain achievement. However in Stardew Valley the tracker seems to be broken because neither did the percentage for Greenhorn (Earn 15,000g) increase when I had earned a significant amount of cash (at 5,000g it should have been at 33%) nor did the percentage of Gofer (Complete 10 'Help Wanted' requests.) or Fisherman (Catch 10 different fish.) increase when completing Help Wanted missions . This feature makes working towards these goals much easier and less frustrating. Please consider fixing this. Thanks!

Game won't load save

PS4- Springtime, 2nd year.

Im Having a bug where i placed a fertilizer down (quality fertilizer) and instead of the soil looking fertilized, it placed the image of the actual blue fertilizer box. I can't seem to walk through it or remove it in any way as of yet. It is tilled soil, and next to a stone wall, if that helps find the bug issue.

As for the sound cutting off, im only having a problem where it seems like the sound cuts out, but it actually is changing the song when it's not supposed to.

Absolutely amazing soundtrack btw.

Not too sure how it works on the Xbox platform, but on PS4 you can back up your saves to USB and if you have PSN+ it will auto upload it to the cloud.
Saying that, I always back up any save to a USB, on all games. It is good practice in case you want to reload a save, a save gets corrupted or to transfer it to another PS4 system if you own multiple PS4 systems (like I do).
So, it is a good habit to back up saves, no matter what. Again, not too sure IF xbox has any of those features but have a look in your system.

As for PS4 pro problems, I have been playing it on OG PS4 and a PS4 pro (using the same save file on both). They both run the same, seen no hang ups or lags, or no issue of sleeping the system afterwards (or playing another game / steraming). Strange that some people get it and some don't. Could it be the firmware of the PS4 Pro system? Or the hardware? Maybe Sony are working on a fix for the Pro system.
Some issues I have found are apparently being worked on any way, like the heart icon not being there in daily quests or letter box quests.
Again, I await for a fix for the music cutting out. As soon as I do something, 60% of the time (like fish, or empty a crab pot), the music will cut out. No biggie though, the game is still very enjoyable, just wish the music would be fixed.

 

Hey katzeus can you look into my issue. It's at the top of page 3 in this thread. I don't want to type it all back out but the info is all there. I can't even play the game right now it won't even go to the load screen. Just crashes while saying looking for saved games. Tried making a new file and save after first day to test it. Exited to title and tried to load and it does the same thing. So no matter how many saves I make I can't even get it to load any of them. Unplayable for me at the moment. Been like this for a couple days. I try every day to play hoping it will work with no luck.

Unfortunately Microsoft don't allow Xbox One users to manually backup saves to external devices (supposedly due to people hacking save files, but more likely down to Microsoft being control freaks) - they do automatically backup the most recent save to their Cloud, but seemingly this isn't often helping Stardew Valley players.

Given the problems that XB1 users are having, perhaps as a stop-gap measure the Stardew Valley devs could issue a version which enables users to copy saves in-game (which would still be stored on the console's hard drive). Players could then make a backup of their known good save, play the game and if it crashes and corrupts the files then load up the older save. This could be done as often as required by the player and would seem like a very sensible solution, extremely easy to implement too.

 

The temporary workaround for this bug is to use a cherry bomb to blow up the box (but that will also destroy any surrounding crops, so that's only to be used when the crops are harvested or at the very end of a season). Another method (from antoher thread here) seems to be to plant mixed seed or season specific seed underneath the fertilizer box and grow a forage crop. That is of course less destructive but I take no responsibility if you mess up your crops and/or save game.
